Andrew Wiggins

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What I wonder is why Wiggins signed the contract when he did in the first place if he was worried about getting traded. Why not delay it as long as possible?

I don't know why everyone assumes he is or was worried about it. All he said before the draft is that he wanted to be the #1 pick. That being wanted the most was important to him. Well, he was the #1 pick.

I'm sure he would be disappointed going to a shitty team, but that's what usually picks #1 anyway. He will still get paid. He can kick the ball all over Minneapolis and they will still love him and hang their hopes on him. I don't know why people think he is so broken up about it.

Yeah, makes sense. I'm just pointing out there were plenty of hardball steps him and his agent could have taken if he was completely against getting traded.

Nobody cried about Carrick Felix being jettisoned from a winning team to nba purgatory.

Carrick spent a year of college in Idaho. Salt Lake City is going to be like a vacation.

Wiggins is from Canada. Minnesota won't scare him at all, now will it, eh?

And in case you guys don't know, Cleveland is still viewed as ones of the most dreary spots to land a plane in the flyover states of America by jet setters. It's not like Wiggins just got kicked out of MIA, LA or NYC. or Chicago. Or the bay area. Or Toronto. Or New Orleans. Cleveland is like Newark with less history, more rust, and a stinky lake instead of an ocean. I live in Cleveland and still say that. What do you think the people from out of town say?

If anything, getting traded & disrespected before playing a single NBA game might finally give Wiggin's that chip on his shoulder that he needs to start winning more basketball games instead of athletic combines.

Huh? Seriously, what?

Do you have a single shed of evidence Wiggins cares more about athletic combines than winning basketball games Doug? He's spent the last 6 years in the public's eyes winning at every stage he's played on, it was Wiggins stepping up after the Embiid injury and leading KU to another conference championship last year.

If anything, Andrew Wiggins is the rare hyped up player that cares more about his team winning games than his own personal accolades, whether that be scoring or athletic based. The chip on his shoulder debate was hashed and re-hashed pre-draft, the fact he didn't hog the ball and played within a strict offensive system shouldn't be held against him.

In light of "the trade" about to go down, I just wanted to stop by and wish Andrew Wiggins the best. I think he'll have a great career. That said, I like the deal for the Cavs if the trade specifics are what's being reported. I didn't want any Minny's mush players or contracts coming back. Great job by Griff !!

Deuces, Wiggins! I'll be rooting for you this year!

Not a lot of hope he turns into a superstar player now. He's going to a team without a good number 1 option, so he's gonna be looked to fill that role and I'm not sure he can do it.

Rubio still a great passer. Too bad he can't shoot so the floor spacing will be still be messed up but he should be able to setup Wiggins and LaVine.
Funny TWolves fans feels like they got two great finishers who neither can dribble that well (Lavine looks like he has good court vision though: like him as a prospect as his mechanics on his jumper and passing seemed to me to be ahead of Wiggins)

He was probably never going to be a superstar, but this gives him the best chance to max out. If he is ever going to be at all competent handling the ball he needs to do it a lot more than he would here.

The love that Lavine has gotten on this site since summer league is unreal.

I hope Wiggins turns into a star that's stuck in situations where he's never a real threat. Kind of like Anthony Davis. Tough to root against Wiggins, he seems like a hell of a guy.

Yeah, LaVine showed the flashes that we knew he had in him, but he also showed how raw he is. He shot 39.7 % from the field and 26.3% from behind the arc in summer league. I don't think most people would be so nice if he were on our team. :chuckles:

Kid has a lot of potential, but he also has a ways to go.

People fell in love with his hops and the shit he's been doing on Vine. I cringed whenever I saw people suggest we get him back in a Love deal. He's years away from being able to contribute to a championship team.

He does have a lot of potential though. He looked raw in Summer League but he has a lot of promise.
