Annual RCF Rate My Team/Who to Play Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So for my RB challenged team, would you guys consider buying low on CJ Spiller? If so, what would you consider a good offer for him? Obviously Calvin Johnson is not going to be involved. My other WRs are Jordy Nelson, Julio Jones, Cordarrelle Patterson, and DeAndre Hopkins. The guy I'm targeting has Ball, Murray, Spiller, Vereen, S. Jackson, and Greene as his RBs, and his receivers are Cruz, Marshall, Colston, and Wright, so I figured he's probably the best target in the league to address his team's needs and mine.

Thoughts?

Benny Cunningham might be worth a pickup/look into. He's free in most leagues and there is a lot of confusion coming from the rams at that position.

I'm not very high on Spiller. In all his years in the league he still hasn't been able to separate himself from an aging Jackson in Buffalo. Jackson is still going to be handling the bulk of the passing downs and goaline work. Add in the fact that Buffalo is going to be trailing in the majority of their games this year. They are going to be passing more and running less in order to play catch up. I try to steer clear of running backs on bad teams because of this.

I wouldn't give up any of your top 3 receivers for Spiller personally. I don't think I would give up Patterson either. I think he's going to be a stud this year. You'll probably need him in week 9 when Jordy and Julio have a bye.

I definitely went a little homer with my bench, most of them will be gone soon enough anyway though. I'm incredibly comfortable with my WR corps, especially if Gordon comes back. Qb position is pretty stable with Brady, he has a late bye so I'm going to hold off on a backup. I have absolutely no clue what I'm going to get out of my RBs, I was planning on getting guys like Ray Rice and MJD late, but someone else beat me to it and I kinda got stuck. Miller, Spiller, and Vereen all split touches and I have to hold on to West because of Tates injury history. Not even sure who Christine Michael is tbh.

Can't decide on leaving the lineup as is, or squeezing Edelman into the slot. Doesn't seem to be much of a difference until we start seeing them play though.

I have a 10 team PPR redraft league. My roster stands at:
QB Russell Wilson
RB Adrian Peterson
RB Andre Ellington
WR Julio Jones
WR Alshon Jeffrey
TE Jason Witten
FLEX Andre Johnson
K Stephen Gostkowski
D/ST St. Louis Rams
BE Carlos Hyde
BE Dennis Pitta
BE Mike Evans
BE Danny Woodhead
BE Jeremy Hill
BE Teddy Bridgewater

I wound up going for rookie/potential on my bench a lot more than I intended going into the evening. That makes me a little nervous. What do you guys think? Any areas I should be really concerned about?

Also, we haven't even gotten to week one and I've had a trade offer. I was offered Vincent Jackson and Chris Johnson in return for Alshon Jeffrey and Carlos Hyde. My gut says not to do it, because I think a couple weeks into the season Hyde's stock is going to jump and Jeffrey will always be a step above Jackson. What do you guys think? Stand pat?

So of course my lack of depth at RB is scaring me already. Ellington is a game time decision. Do I hope he actually plays or do I sit him and risk playing a rookie (Hyde or Jeremy Hill)? Am I overreacting?

PPR, I'd start Woodhead in lieu of Ellington being out. Jeremy Hill will split carries with Gio, but Bernard will get the bulk of the carries and the passing down work. Hill will probably handle the goal line. Woodhead was a PPR beast last year. 76 receptions. He's definitely your next best bet.

For the gronk owners are you guys starting him? I have Vernon Davis on my bench. I wonder what kind of production he'll bring this week

I just grabbed Gordon from FA. I was actually surprised no one in my league had picked him up yet. If he gets reinstated I'll definitely have the best WR group in the league(PPR).

Julio Jones
Brandon Marshall
Randall Cobb
Emmanuel Sanders
Kendall Wright
Terrance Williams
Josh Gordon

Yeah, I grabbed him in two of my three leagues where I had a bench scrub I could drop. He wasn't available in the third league.

I always miss that sweet time after all my fantasy drafts when I love my teams before they start actually playing and everyone looks terrible. :chuckle:

Today in fantasy football...

Highlights:
Matt fucking Ryan: 42 points, beast mode activated.
Le'Veon Bell: 32 points in a PPR league.
Cordarrelle Patterson: 21 points, or 26 points in my PPR league (where he was on the bench of course)
Nick Foles: 24 points...given that he went into halftime with negative points, I'll take it!
Antonio Brown: 20 points...everyone putting up big numbers against the Browns. Coincidence?
DeAndre Hopkins: 21 points. On my bench. FML. My bench has 69 right now in a PPR league.

Lowlights:
Jamaal Charles: 6 points. I assume no one told him they had a game today.
Saints Defense: -7 points. Jesus H. Christ.
Toby Gerhart: 5 points. I should have known better than to draft a white running back.
Rams Defense: -3 points. This is karma for cutting Michael Sam.
Jimmy Graham: 12 points. I didn't pay 56 bucks in an auction for this shit.

State of the Teams:
Beats By Ray - Down 111 to 114, PPR league. My opponent has no players remaining. I have Calvin Johnson and Adam Vinatieri. If I lose this without both of my players being injured, I fucking quit.
Heavy Pettine - Down 78 to 79. I have Dez Bryant playing right now. My opponent has Mike Tolbert for some reason and Reggie Wayne. Tony Romo is currently playing like Tony Romo, so I'm starting to get worried.
Turn Down for Watt - Down 72 to 78 in a .5 PPR league. I've got Romo and Gore. Opponent has Witten, Keenan Allen, and Novak. Not feeling good about this one.

I'm feeling good about my two teams even though I opened with losses in both leagues. That's mainly because I got Knowshon Moreno in late rounds in both leagues but had him on the bench because I wasn't sure if he or Lamar Miller would be getting most of the touches. Well, now that that question has been answered I think I've got a steal going forward in Moreno.

Was down 14 in my big money league and had Stafford who just went absolute Buster from Arrested Development tonight. Ended up wining by like 16.

I went early on QB this year (took Stafford 5th rd, usually go around 7-8) so hopefully this pays off. He won't go this crazy every week but he just has so many weapons.
