Anthony Bennett

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
When you are 50 wearing the mask is no big deal, When you are 20, its not going to help you with chicks. If the problem could be fixed by this then by all means, but I am not sure that will be enough.

Yeah, I read something about how this kind of surgery is effective in 25-30% of cases of sleep apnea. But I assume the Cleveland Clinic doctors will have assessed his condition to determine that there's a decent chance of success in his case.

Where did this 39" number come from for Bennett's vert? That would put the top of his head within an inch or two of the rim...and I've never seen him get that high up, even in his highlight reels from college. I don't doubt that he has above-average hops for a guy with his frame, but this strikes me as one of those folklore-ish numbers that got exaggerated an inch here and an inch there along the way, sort of like how Oladipo supposedly measured a 7-foot wingspan at Indiana then only 6'9" at the combine.

I believe the reported 39" vertical was from the 2012 Nike Hoops Summit.

Bennett's choice to have voluntary surgery to try to improve the condition suggests that it was a big deal. No need otherwise to have the procedure.

Are you saying he had no other need, or people in their 20's don't have any other reason? Only asking because I had mine out then, voluntarily, but recommended. I had an issue where it kept swelling. I was one of the unlucky few that hemorrhaged from it, about lost my life from it. The good news, never got strep or a sore throat after, the bad, still got sleep apnea.

Looks like a completely different player in this video... Hoping we see this confident, in shape Anthony Bennett starting in summer league while carrying over to the regular season... Some people are forgetting after this unfortunate season that this kid has all the tools. I believe he just needs to get it right mentally and it's only a matter of time before the beast is unleashed. He flashed some potential this year.

All I am saying is that it was reported that Bennett got his tonsils and adenoids out specifically to relieve sleep apnea. I don't think (at least it wasn't reported) that he had to get the surgery for any other reason.

Not to mention that Bennett's strength, speed, and overall athleticism are well above average, if not potentially elite, for the power forward position.

Bennett's strength, speed, athleticism, ability to jump multiple times very quickly, wingspan, and standing reach will serve him well at the power forward position.

Of course his speed and athleticism are above average for a PF. If he was 6'7 playing pf and that wasn't the case we would be completely fucked.

Are Joe Johnson, Kevin Martin, Evan Turner, Gordon Hayward, more athletic and fast than most Pf's? Yes because they play the godamn shooting guard position at the same height.

What does AB offer that Joe Johnson doesn't? and jj is able to play the 2 guard. If you are stuck with AB in the 4 position you are hamstringing your entire roster.

It is beyond rare to have a #1 pick perform this badly and turn into a superstar. People need to curb their enthusiasm, if he turns into a solid rotational guy that is a bonus at this point. You either have it or you don't.

Why is Dwight Howard playing the center position when he's only 6'9"? Should Durant be playing center because he's just as tall if not taller than Dwight Howard? Why do guys like Alonzo Mourning who's 6'10" capable of playing center while 6'11" Jared Jeffries will get raped if forced to play center? A player's style of play is important in determining if they can hold down a position in the NBA.

The ability to play the power forward position? :dunno:

And who was calling Bennett a superstar? Some are still thinking he has all-star potential, but they are saying that with the disclaimer that he has a long ways to go in order to reach his potential.

Your posts on Bennett these past two days have been laden with straw men. Get that stuff out of here.

I think it's funny how Zen continues to spout out Bennett's height like it means something and completely ignore that Bennett's wingspan and standing reach are normal for a PF.
