Bennett was such a failure last year that I am not even taking him into account when I imagine our core going forward. Just imagine what this team could do next year if we keep Kyrie,Dion, draft Embiid, and Bennett starts playing like a #1 overall draft pick. He could surprise us all with an off season of work and all the spotlight off of him. Man, wouldn't that be a fun line up to watch?

I'm looking for a big jump from him next year.

I think a lot of people did not take his shoulder injury into account with his struggles. Bennett had to learn how to shoot again. With a full off-season of practice shooting and running, I see Bennett being a big surprise next year.

This is such a stretch. You could literally place any name in for Hawes and the same holds true, and replace at times with "the majority of the time" We absolutely should not be basing this pick by who AB fits best with.

He didn't say we should be basing the pick around Bennett. He just said that Bennett would be a good fit with the guy that most people seem to already want.

Crap. Tristan has better 'footwork' in that video than Bennet. I was hoping Bennet was our PF of the future, I guess we have to give Tristan that big extension now. :chuckles:

That is why I don't get the "failure" part. They are trying so hard to make Bennett a failure, they come out looking bad themselves analysis. Guy was not going to be a big impact player for the Cavs, nor was he expected to be a alpha in a draft class that didn't have one. I would not have played him to January and then he still has developing to do. Guy isn't going to be a top 50 all time great. Never was going to be(along with the rest of his draft class).

I will take anything from AB as a bonus and plan for getting the same from him as last year as a worst case scenario. For this next season I will compare the Bennett situation to finding $20 in a couch cushion when you're a student. You could have survived without it but man are you happy to have found it.

The pressure should be off the kid given we'll have another #1 pick on-board and full off-season so no reason to fail in my mind.

With a full offseason, I think we see a better version of Bennett.

I am more concerned about his confidence than his basketball skills and athleticism. I saw enough stuff from him to see the natural ability.

But mental issues are harder to overcome. I just hope a new system, new coach, and new environment can resolve most of that. I think it can.

Anthony Bennett, I want to know one thing.

How does it make you feel to hear literally EVERYBODY scoff when your name is brought up? How does it make you feel that popular opinion says it's already a foregone conclusion that you are a BUST?

Nobody is doubting you here in Cleveland big fella, but LITERALLY every single soul in America has already anointed you among the biggest busts in NBA history.

What does this do to you? You gonna go ghost? Or are you going to use this summer to shut everybody the fuck up? I want to know who you are Anthony Bennett.

We all know you got talent, we understand the circumstances of last season, but please young fella, please tell me this keeps you awake at night? People disrespecting you like this.

Please tell me you are in the gym grinding relentlessly. We don't want to see your workout videos, lock yourself in a cellar like Mr. T and show us the results, not the process.

Just please show the world who you really are. I hope this eats at you inside, but not in a mean way. I think you are a quiet dude, but you need to take this head on and show these mother fuckers whats really up. God blessed you with those shoulders, use them. God blessed you with a feathery touch and nice form, SINK THEM.

Summer league will be good for these guys. I really want Delly there running the show. Karasev probably could have used it last year too. It is just good to play against other draftees and young players before you get thrown into the NBA fire.

Technically speaking, the Cavs will debut two #1 picks next season because we're still waiting for Anthony Bennett to show up.

And the usual random tryout scrubs. Having that many guys there who will be on the regular roster will be a good acclimation and bonding experience for Embiid. Having Delly at PG is huge because he can dictate that we actually play the way the coaches want and make sure Bennett and Embiid get the ball a lot. The problem with having random try out PG's is that they get too consumed in showing out individually. The Cavs will have a good opportunity to actual run some of the basic sets from the new coaches offense and defense with 4-6 guys who will be on the team.

That's awesome that he's in good shape and playing well in workouts and pickup games. I think we should all just be happy with 20-28 mpg of proficient basketball for season 2. If he gives us more, bonus, but let's the temper the expectations based on summer workouts.
