Should I do it or not? I am slightly OCD and my Iphone qualifies but they are probably just checking the serial # for the date purchased.

The only reason why I ask as it dying at 20% or lower as only happened twice that I can remember since I had it since launch week. One well more than 2 yrs ago and last night it died at 23% after being completely off for a few days (long story), if I just use as alarm and ocassionally text I can literally get a week out of the battery.

Should I go for this just because of last night's incident or see if it is persistent before I consider? Could last night have been a fluke or?

My phone has been dying at over 50%.. It's been really shitty since I bought it nearly 2 years ago. I saw this post today and decided to go and check if I'm eligible. Well, I was. They replaced the battery free of charge and it took them about an hour and a half. They had no idea at first because I was the first person asking for it in the store. So.. Thanks for posting the link because I pulled it up for her...

no problem.

I was worried I was one of the affected 1s since my serial # matched and it randomly died at 23% yesterday. But I am doing an experiment, since this has maybe happened twice in 3 or so years I am only using my phone a little to see how long it takes to drain the battery to see if I need to replace it. At 100% as of 8:30 am it's now 6:30, didn't use at all just maybe facebook once, still 100%

Can't believe it's taken them this long to roll this out. Still can't believe how Apple missed this fault in their production line. I like how it refers to a "small percentage" when I'm sure I know a ton of people with this issue.

You should just do it.. It's a free new battery that'll up the value of your phone tremendously.

I am paranoid ocd, I let no one touch my phone lol.

Well, if you're looking for a testimonial, I'm impressed with how my phone came out. Literally didn't look like they did anything with it.

Now, if you're housing child porn on your phone? I'd steer away. :chuckle:

Yeah it happened again today but it was from turning my phone back on from numerous days off (personal reasons).... Obviously something is faulty, I may just wait until the iphone 6 hysteria dies down and go into apply in a few weeks to have it replaced or just get the 6 because I planned to at some point in the near future anyways.

I just can't help but think this is Apple's doing. I work for ATT, I am a conspiracy theorist but how it happens for the first day they announce the issue and how they announced the issue like 2 weeks before the new phones were announced, they have to have a switch somewhere or something.
