Around the NFL 2012-2013

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Seattle had 2 timeouts left on the last drive after the botched squib. Why did they throw a five yard out trying to get out of bounds instead of hitting a 10-15 yard pass and getting down and calling a timeout for a fg?

I actually thought the Texans were the more talented team. That defensive front line is definitely not weak. They were putting some licks on Brady. Secondary is a little shaky, but they have everything in place to be a team to go the distance. Defense, running game, and gifted receivers.

The Patriots clearly outmatch them in coaching and QB play though. Kubiak stinks as a coach. Belichick coached circles around him. I for some stupid reason pick them to go to the SB every year.

Team is too talented to continue to come up short all the time.

The refs helped by calling a bogus defensive hold when the ball was swatted down by the Texans. Then the spot on a play Houston didn't challenge was kind of sketch.

They can win with Shaub, but he's the Dilfer of this group if he does.

It's not easy to complete a 15 yard pass and get a timeout before those 6 seconds run off.

And Atlanta's D Coordinator or defensive captain should've been barking out the fact that if they tried this then not to tap the receiver when he dives to the ground.

The refs also blew an OBVIOUS fumble, and mysteriously decided it was forward progress. Again, you go through the game you'll see blown calls on either side. Patriots manhandled them.

Carroll should have called time out again, ice the guy 2 or 3 times in a row for the lulz.

There was 8 seconds left and when he caught it and ran out there was 2 seconds left.

28-30
28-41
38-35
31-45

Best teams in football, all respectable defenses, drop those numbers on each other when it counts. Really hope Chud can do something with this offense.

Exactly. 8 seconds is plenty of time to complete something over the middle for 10-15 yards, slide down, and call a timeout. Especially if you prep every ref on what your doing. The 5 or so yards they got on that play really didn't help them on the hail mary anyway, seeing as the ball made it fairly deep in the end zone.

The Seattle receiver caught the ball about halfway between the hashmark and the sideline and ran sideways out of bounds. I think your chances of winning are better doing something like what I said and having a shot at a 55 yard field goal rather than a hail mary attempt.

You realize you can't call back to back timeouts right?

I feel like a Browns coach has tried this within the last couple years when the Browns had the ball. Could seear Shurmur attempted it last year.
