Backup PG

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He was a bit of fun to watch last year, but he has played sparingly (and bad in limited minutes mind you) this year under a new coach. What backup point guard on the market would you rather have? Just curious.

None. There are bigger needs than another PG IMO. I just think Delly is playing out of position right now. He is being exposed playing 30+ minutes a night, guarding 2 guards primarily, and having to provide more offense than is usually required from him. That will change when the team gets healthy again. We're also forgetting that this guy had a knee issue that kept him out of things for a month, so he is a month behind on his game conditioning as well as getting acclimated to a new system and new players (which I think is very important for a passing PG). When he's back to coming off the bench and providing 15-17 minutes a night instead of 30+, we'll be fine at PG. Especially with him hitting his 3s now.

Now this I can agree with. Great post.

agreed. once we are healthy he will be playing with a better second unit too; JR, Marion, and TT. He will look more like the Delly we love when we are at full strength

I wish Boston could buyout Nelson and we could sign him. Solid vet with playoff experience off the bench.

When Rubio comes back wolves should honestly get rid of mo Williams.. Why would they keep him?? He would be taking minutes from lavine and their other wings/guards who need playing time. The wolves blow dicks this year anyway.

Mo coming back would be awesome even if it's in a super limited role

For next offseason, a player I've been surprised by is.......Donal Sloan. Anyone else follow him at all this season with the Pacers? As a cheap signing, could he be a decent pick for backup PG next year?

I really think Delly will be able to play the backup PG role going forward. He did it at the beginning of the season quite well by giving us stability when he came in, but that injury messed him up as well as being pressed into a more prominent role that is above his abilities right now have caused him to get into a rut.

I think he will get settled eventually though as everything gets back to normal, but I could also see us bringing in a more veteran guy to provide cover in case of injury and to help Delly and Kyrie get better at playing that position. I wish we could bring in Steve Nash as a coach because I see parts of his game in both of these guys and I believe he could help them tremendously.

Almost no chance Mo Williams would be signed by the Cavaliers. James and Williams are not on good terms.

I would rather sign Chauncey Billups to do this since his relationship with JR would be an added bonus. Karl said that they were fairly close in Denver and that Chauncey was able to help keep him in check along with Andre Miller.

Edit: Obviously I would like to have either, It is just a little extra something that would intrigue me more than Nash.
