Baron Davis and the amnesty clause.. Why?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It doesn't make any sense to waive Baron Davis. I personally would like to keep BD to help Irving's development. Even if they both play on the floor at the same time, it'll help Irving even to a further level. If there is a great trading offer, sure. If not, Baron Davis is one veteran player I would like to have to build along with Irving in his rookie season. They can trade BD next year when his expiring contract will be useful for trades.

The amnesty rather sucks in Baron's case. He can be a valuable player, and he could try to help Kyrie and not get in the way of his development if he was so inclined. But if he'd rather be in LA he should either help work out a trade or give up salary in a buyout which we'd likely be receptive to. So far he hasn't seem interested in giving up a dime.

If Baron really wants to play elsewhere, he should come into camp in shape, and play himself into a trade.
