Battle for the AL Central -|- Indians @ Royals -|- August 29th, 30th, and 31st

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

According to the Twitterverse, you can't finish a game until the home team gets a final at-bat. I'm reading that if they cancel (which I doubt they will given the time of the year), the game goes back to the top of the tenth with a tied score.

I hope that's wrong, but that's what I'm seeing.

According to Wikipedia, "However, if the game is rained out prior to the completion of an inning in which the visiting team scored one or more runs to take the lead, and the home team has not retaken the lead, the game is suspended, to be resumed at a later date." So it looks like it would get suspended and then the bottom of the inning would be played at a later date?

That's insane, if true. I thought after the bottom of the fifth, the umps can call the game no matter what? When did they change that rule?

That's better than nullifying our previous two runs, I guess.

Yeah, it was a KC beat writer that obviously doesn't know shit.

This blows so much.
Tomorrow is not looking good.

There is no way they take the runs away. So the question is, do the umps end the game or pick it up tomorrow. That I have no idea, I thought they could end it, but maybe because its clearly an important game they can choose to continue tomorrow

If it doesn't get played out tonight, it might got get played period unless it makes a difference in the final standings

They will just resume the game the next time we play them.

We don't go back to KC this year. I assume it'd be tough to get them to agree to finish this game in Cleveland.

The Indians are home tomorrow against the Tigers
