Bernie Kosar drunk on the radio

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Some people from this board were at one time very open to the thought of him joining the front office at one time.

Every time I see this thread's title, I read it as "Bernie Kosar dunks on Radio."

I just imagine Bernie throwing it down on a mentally handicapped Cuba Gooding Jr.

Some people from this board were at one time very open to the thought of him joining the front office at one time.

And this is the precise reason that he's not in a front office. He's a fine confidant in spats and behind the scenes, but he's just not anything close to a formidable human to commit salary to.

I guess you normally don't screen a guy like Bernie, because everyone knows who he is....but why not just have him call or call him a few minutes before the show...."Ah, yea Bernie, we'll talk to you later something came up *click*".

I was wondering this too, but then I realized the screener probably talks to Bernie for what like 10 seconds? If you ever listen to Bernie especially on the radio, even sober he sounds like he's a little tipsy and the screener probably just went "Well, it's Bernie as usual." Even the first minute or so of the actual interview they were just laughing because they thought it was just Bernie being Bernie. Only then did it become apparent the guy was absolutely shitfaced.

Hooley just acknowledged yesterday's happening. He stated that it was Bernie's emotions that made him belligerent. They really should post that sound byte on Webster next to the definition of belligerence.

If a guy is fat, he's at serious risk of fatal diseases. Thus, it's a problem for him and those who care about him...regardless of whether he can run.

Apply that to Bernie and add the reliability issues that come along with addiction and how that affects an employer's view of you.

if he's able to run, its safe to assume his cardiovascular health is decent, especially when considering he's got extra weight to move around.. So a problem aesthetic in nature is really only a problem because everyone else is saying it is

This is tricky: If you ignore the fact that he was clearly drunk/belligerent, people will criticize you. If you acknowledge that he was drunk, people will criticize you. and even saying that his "emotions made him belligerent."... it's a half truth. This is a private matter, I feel. But people will always criticize the way it's handled. Just a very difficult place to be, for all those involved.

Yea thats full of BS, he was drunk it was so obvious and to play it off as anything else is insulting.

Yea it is sad, maybe it will make him get some help.

That was hilarious, but sad at the same time.

If people wanna drink their problems away, then so be it. He has to live with that now and im sure it wasn't the first time.

"I got you off guard, you don't even know what to say"

He has concussion syndrome and takes pain meds to help. I am sure the pain, meds and alcohol do not mix well. Its easy for allot of us to judge him based upon our lives, but I am betting he has a legitimate medical issue on top of the addiction that makes kicking the addiction so much harder.

That was really not funny, just sad. I wish Bernie the best, even with his fall from grace, he will always be one of my personal heroes.
