Best Pizza In Northeast Ohio

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Pizzaz also has great salads and their house dressing is awesome.

Longo's is another good one for you east siders.

Peppers in Lakewood...amazing sauce am I right @Frank Reynolds ?

You're damn right. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I suckered them into giving me a soup container full of extra sauce.

Mellow Mushroom is overrated. Service sucks and it's really expensive.
Angelo's is expensive, but awesome.
Danny Boy's has really good...everything. Love eating there, great atmosphere.
Sweet Basil is great too. Danny sells the wine at the same price he buys it.

Gino's East in Chicago is solid.

Danny boys is a great spot. I think I actually prefer Danny boys to Angelos. Angelos is good, I'm not going to say it's bad; I think it's a little overhyped.

Ginos east of Chicago is excellent. I don't have much experience in CHI with the deep dish, but my experience at Ginos east was excellent. The crust almost has a kind of fried cornbread taste. That shit is fantastic. Supposedly for like 40 dollars they'll ship you a deep frozen pizza pie that you can cook at home. Might need to look into that for the Xmas game vs GS.

Get over to Peppers though, you won't regret it.

haha when it's hot it's not the worst. When it has a chance to cool down, it's the worst.

I honestly think it's the worst pizza I've ever had in my life. I couldn't eat it as a kid, and as kid you eat anything that's pizza.

Try Fratello's pizza in Parma Heights/Middleburg Heights. Definitely get the Supreme too.

I had Romeo's over in Mayfield Village and it was very good. I feel like it's reputation to the average joe is far inferior to the taste of the pizza.

I agree, I think its the sauce. I really like the hint of sweet they put in it (sugar? idk) but that's pretty subjective. Definitely deserves all the awards its won, imo.

Just tried Pizza Fire in downtown Akron yesterday. I thought it was pretty good for what it was, but I wouldn't really classify it as a pizza place in the same way I would a Papa John's or a Domino's. It's more like a Chipotle or a Panera Bread but pizza.

I used to room with one of the family members of that pizzeria. I laughed because now they supposedly opened a wedding reception hall, and a funeral home in the same complex. Not only do they get you spending on their pizza while you are alive, you end up hosting your daughter's wedding there, and they bury you out of the same place. I'll tell ya what these people are fucking accommodating.

My buddy would bring those pizzas back to us late night many times, man what a treat that was to get fucked up and have these gourmet hot pizzas delivered for free routinely. What a guy.

I know the family and they really are fantastic people. A couple nights we got absolutely shit hammered, drove out there at 3:00AM and my buddy opened up the pizzeria and cooked us all whatever we wanted. That's some real wiseguy shit....What a guy though, whatever girl marries him is one lucky broad. Really great family though; very solid Italian food. The eggplant parm is excellent, and I don't even eat eggplant parm.

Which Albino?

However; my favorite pizza is probably Pizzaz. Over by John Carroll or Mayfield heights, either one works. They just opened a new one called Slice in Mentor off 615. I tried it last weekend and it's the same recipe so I'm very happy as that's only 5 minutes from me now.

I was a pizza cook there in the late 1990s, helped me pay the rent in undergrad. I didn't know how to cook anything when they hired me, they taught me the basics while I was on the clock. I then didn't make pizza again until about three years ago, but now I do the exact same Pizzaz technique at least once a week. So damn perfect.
