Bills Updates: Pick Watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Unfortunately the whole AFC East looks terrible this year, so I'm not going to start assuming this is a top pick quite yet.

Maybe New England gets things straightened out, but through four weeks it looks like a crap shoot as to which team gets the divisional playoff spot.

Hopefully Orton doesn't come in and improve their passing offense from the atrocity it's been so far.

Not a bad thing to worry about... Anytime you're rooting for a back-up like Kyle Orton to not be starter quality, you'll likely come out happy.

On a side note: Godfather must be in tears after that Brady performance last night.

I'm not too concerned about him being starter quality, but there is some concern that he'll be better than EJ Manuel quality.

Wow, gritty win. This team is killing us here in Buffalo, so up and down. One thing is for sure, this defense is looking dominant so far this season.

Wow Detroit really laid an egg

CJ Spiller out for the year-- broken collarbone.

Fred Jackson went off after the previous play with a groin injury and immediately ruled out.

Bills win again. Garbage...I knew this would end up being a decent season for Buffalo.

Obviously the pick is still extremely valuable as a first, but if you don't admit you were hoping for a top 10-15 pick when this deal was announced on draft night you're just kidding yourself.

Still time for a meltdown by Buffalo, but they look pretty nice and their schedule only has 3 truly good opponents left.

I thought this was a bad deal on draft night and still think it's one. The Bills aren't great but they aren't one of the worst teams in the league either - they're mediocre. Sammy Watkins would have added a ton to this offense and Gordon/Watkins/Cameron with Crowell/West in the backfield could have been downright scary. Sometimes trading back makes sense - this was not the case here.

5-3 is mediocre? The Bills' defense hasn't missed a beat from last year. It was their defense that drove that team and it is doing it again. They have a mediocre offense- but am outstanding defense, and certainly not a mediocre team at this point. What is that first draft by Farmer looking like now? It was supposedly one of the best drafts ever back when it was made. Just curious.

Going to go down as another Julio Jones-esque trade. Every year, I pray we will just take the elite talent, instead of acquiring good players and then drafting 1 pick after all the elite guys are taken.

I never even mentioned Farmer or anything about his drafting ability. But if you're asking my opinion, I didn't like it as a whole - at the time or now. I don't think Gilbert was worth trading down and I don't buy Manziel as the answer at QB.

As for the Bills, we'll see how they finish. Their last four include road games at Denver and New England with a home game against Green Bay. I think they'll lose all three and at least one other game, which puts them in the 9-7, 8-8 discussion. Maybe average is a nicer word to use instead of mediocre.

Gilbert had his best game of the season today and has slowly showed progress each week he has played. It's entirely too early in his career to make these sort of assumptions.

Benching EJ Manuel was the worst thing that's happened to the Browns all year!
