Blazers looking to trade their picks

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't think the Blazers would be interested in Andy, or anything else we have except for Kyrie honestly. They will want a great, young player for that pick (NJ). So it would have to be some sort of complicated three way or 4 way.

If the Blazers get NJ's pick and it's top five, I'd be extremely surprised if they traded it to anybody. I'm not speaking for other posters, but I would try to go after their pick this year (which is going to be around 10-14.

I think Varejao would be a nice fit next to Aldridge as well, but I don't see there being enough interest on Portland's part to deal that pick for Varejao. I ultimately think that Varejao remains a Cavs for as long as he wants (meaning, I think he won't be traded by the front office). I just see him having to much fan support and meaning too much to the Cavs team itself.

I don't necessarily agree with it, but that's what I foresee. I'd deal him for the Blazers' first pick, don't think the two teams involved would though.

They want to trade their pick to do away with babysitting four rookies. They also have a relatively young team at the moment, so Andy makes a great sense for them to give them stability and professionalism that can help their young team in transitioning.

I think Portland is definitely going to be looking hard at trying to move either of the 2 picks... probably leaning more towards dealing NJ's. The reason being, I could see them being very interested in drafting Kendall Marshall.

They already have/could potentially have:
PG: (Kendall Marshall)/Raymond Felton/Jonny Flynn
SG: Wesley Matthews/Jamal Crawford
SF: Nicolas Batum/Luke Babbit
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge/JJ Hickson
C: (Andy V)/Hasheem Thabeet

EDIT: Wow, yeah. That lineup could be scary good! I wouldn't THINK Marshall would go top-5, so trading that NJ pick makes sense. Obviously wouldn't be an Andy-for-pick swap, but I'm sure the sides could come to something.

Andy V and Alonzo + all our second round picks for the NJ pick for any of their excess contract baggage.

I'd take as many picks as i could get. Our roster at the tail end is hot garbage. This training camp is going to need to weed out a lot of the trash. We have at least 8 players on our roster that are 10-15 men on normal rosters. Bring in as many hungry rookies as possible, and start raising the competition. We don't have much in developemental players. We just have kyrie, tristan, and alonzo that have shown improvement as the year has gone on. Everyone else sucks.

uh yeah, cavs won't come close to "coming to something" for the most valuable currently owed draft pick in the entire league.

not to mention the belief that portland would give up much of anything for another absurdly injury prone big.

I dont think Portland has been über happy with Felton. He just has not shown the fire. Reminds me a bit of the devin Harris thing. All the skills but no focus. I am wondering if they could swing mo Williams. He has an option, and I think he would beat out Felton for top shot.

Yeah, I just figure Portland would be a good place for Marshall to land. Especially if they were able to land AV from us. Idk, just thinking out loud!

It would be nice getting portland's 1st rounder in 2012. I don't think Andy V would be worth trading for their pick but if we get New Jersey's pick, I am all game. We need a top 5 player let alone our 7th 1st rounder could turn into 1st overall. So a straight up New Jersey pick for Anderson would be nice until we know the results of the lottery would be sweet to get 1st and 2nd in the draft and the lakers at mid 20s. We would be very young team but can turn ourselves into the next Thunder.

Portland has a decent lineup. Really thier holes are at point guard and center. I think that , if they make a move, it will be on draft night swapping know picks for known picks. If they get lucky and pick up the lottery ball, they take Davis and it makes sense to keep him. Then they couple thier own pick with a vet player and try to get a quality point guard.. If they they go second, they pick up Robinson and trade him for a center and a point guard.

sweet refutation of my points

though i am not surprised; hard to defend massive homer trades such as that one.

Massive homer trades? What are you talking about?

I said AV and stuff for NJ's (anything but top-3) pick. How is that a massive homer trade? Not worth my time...
