Brandon Weeden: GTFO!!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

I loath this pick. We needed a WR, and a OL so much more. I can deal with his age, but by the time we start to win, we are going to be looking for a new QB, and a whole new offensive scheme. Who is he going to be throwing to? Who is going to be blocking him on the right side? STUPID IDIOTIC MOVE. Nothing can compare to how angry I am. I can't wait to hear all the boo's directed at H&H.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

I'm with those who aren't mad that we got Weeden, but they're mad that we got him at 22. While Colt isn't necessarily the future, he's not the biggest hole on the team, and Weeden's not enough of an upgrade like RGIII or Luck to warrant getting him in the 1st round.

What would've been more worth it: getting Hill at 22 for Colt to throw to, or getting Weeden at 22 to throw to our ragtag core of shoddy receivers?

Trick question: our receivers aren't allowed to go past 5 yards.

Hill's strength is being a vertical threat. Would have been fun watching Colt underthrow him by 5 yards.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

I'm jumping on the Weedenwagon!

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

People mock his age, but the way I look at it, those years playing baseball were years he spent not getting his body knocked to shit playing competitive football. No concussions, no knee injuries, none of that.

Yeah, just a career ending arm injury to his throwing arm.

No big deal...

Because its impossible to find good lineman and receivers outside of the first. I think we reached a bit for him too, but you're being ridiculous. Arguably the 3rd best receiver is still on the board.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

Doc is right. I wanted Hill bad, but it would have been a pointless pick if Colt was still here and we had no QB. My only beef is, could we gotten Weeden in the 2nd round?

Yet he was measured at throwing the football 59 mph, which is faster than any QB drafted last year, including Cam Newton. Highest in this years class, as well.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

He's definitely not a goober. He's a smart and composed guy and he's not going to get scared out there. There's something to be said for having age and wisdom.

I actually think he's going to end up being a good player, the best the Browns have had since they got back. On one hand...that's nice. On the second hand...that ain't saying much.

Thing is...Heckert has yet to disappoint in a draft. You have no choice but to ride with the guy. And if he picked Weeden, chances are...Weeden is going to be a good starter within two years. Thing is...he NEEDS to be damn good and he needs to be starting fast.

I'm optimistic about the quality he can bring to the position. I'm just disappointed that no matter how good he is, he'll only be that good for a few years. Some QB's can most definitely play until they're 36-37 years old nowadays. But...a lot can't.

Finally. You sounded like a little girl when the pick was made but I knew you'd come around. It's NOWHERE NEAR as bad a pick as people are making it out. The guys is 3 years older than McCoy and I guarantee you he's way farther along as an NFL QB already.

I like the pick especially if we can grab a WR in the 2nd.

It's been widely reported that that specific arm injury will not impair his football throwing motion.

Stop being a bitch.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

I don't think many people are contending the facets of Weeden besides his age, just the fact that there were still options left on the board for bigger holes - Reilly Reiff, DeCastro, Cordy Glenn come to mind.

I really hope I'm wrong, and this truly was the best option.

Just ignore him b00bie still champions his "marginally stronger arm than Colt" theory.

Fake Dan Beebe ‏ @DanBeebe
It's kinda funny that the Browns helmets are the same color as the leather helmet Brandon Weeden wore in high school.

Now you're just being ridiculous. You've been shown proof that his arm injury, not only isn't the reason he left baseball, but won't effect him as a QB.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

I'll feel a hell of a lot better if we get Hill or Randle tomorrow.
