Brandon Weeden: GTFO!!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

I say take Stephen Hill at 37

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

He has arguably the best arm in the draft. He is old and he is not mobile. Those facts cannot be argued, but at least we know longer have a noodle armed qb. Think Derick Anderson if Anderson was accurate and colelcting ss as a rookie.

He has the same accuracy as DA when he's under pressure- very little.

He's definitely not a goober. He's a smart and composed guy and he's not going to get scared out there. There's something to be said for having age and wisdom.

Except that's exactly what happens when he gets pressured. His mechanics go out the window and he doesn't stay composed.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

So the question now is, do they put McCoy out there as a lame duck starter or start Weeden from Day #1?

it's not like they have 2 years to develop him.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

Yeah, H and H new exactly what they were doing in 2010 when they took Hardesty and McCoy in rounds 2-3, right?
Good picks in the first 3 rounds by H&H:
Haden
Ward
Sheard
Little
Taylor
Richardson

Bad:
Hardesty
Colt (for a 3rd rounder, the potential reward was worth the risk)

Looks pretty good to me...

I think they'll have a competition for it in camp. And I think Weeden makes Colt look silly.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

Weeden screams adding a deep threat at WR.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

Don't hate Weeden, just think he would have been on the board at 37. He needs to be ready to play right away. No growing pains and waiting for development. No way around it, his age is an issue and I still think he should have been very successful as a 28 year old going against 18-20 year olds in college.

Browns seem to panic and go overboard in trying to get players they're high on. Sometimes you just need to be patient and also not be suckered into overpaying.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

There are OL like Martin, Massie, Glenn and Schwartz still available along with WR's Hill and Randle. I think if we snag Randle at 37 then try to trade up for one of those OL I would be a lot happier....

My thought as well. It's clear a deep threat does nothing for you with Colt throwing the ball. Weeden can actually air it out.

Haden - gets burnt by top WR's
Ward - can't pass cover
Little - drops passes and can't run routs
Richardson - who knows

So we go Sheard and Taylor

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

If Weeden has a rookie year similar to Dalton, would you guys be happy? That's where I think he can be this year.

nice analysis b00bie.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

No chance they trot Colt out on the field Game 1 of this season. You don't draft a 29 year old guy expecting to bench him for a year behind a mediocre (at best) QB. You bench guys so that they can learn the game. What's he going to learn from Colt?

except Weeden has a better arm than Dalton. I feel that Weeden can have a Dalton-like impact, but I think that the improvement from last year will be substantial.
