Let's start with this from Dawgs by Nature...

The division is obviously the most straightforward way in...

index.php

In summary, there are four big things to remember:
  1. Cleveland finishes 3-0.
  2. Ignore Baltimore.
  3. Root for Denver to beat Cincinnati in Week 16.
  4. Root for Cincinnati to beat Pittsburgh in Week 17* -OR-
  5. Root for Pittsburgh to lose to Atlanta and Kansas City*
NOW WHAT HAPPENS IF THE BROWNS FINISH 10-6 AND DON'T WIN THE NORTH?

EDITED FOR CORRECTION

They get in the following way...
1. In the playoffs ...
- Cincinnati: L to CLE and 0-2 vs. DEN and PIT
- Baltimore: L to CLE

+ 4 of the following...

- San Diego: 2-1 or worse vs. DEN, KC and SF
- Miami: 2-1 or worse vs. NEW, MIN and NYJ
- Buffalo: 2-1 or worse vs. GB, OAK and NEW
- Kansas City: 2-1 or worse vs. OAK, PIT and SD
- Houston: 2-1 or worse vs IND, BAL and JAX

If all of the above are correct...
3. Steelers vs. 6. Ravens
4. Colts vs. 5. Browns

If 4 of above are correct but Miami, Buffalo, Kansas City, San Diego (2-1) or Houston wins out...
6. Browns

WEEK 15: A Browns win + MIA loss to NEW + BUF loss to GB + SD loss to DEN would be massive.

The least likely scenario? The Browns go 3-0.

KC is not irrelevant. If we both win out, they have the tie breaker due to conference record.

Also, don't forget Houston.

Actually, as long as Miami, Buffalo, Houston all lose 1 more game, San Diego winning out doesn't matter.

In fact, if both us & Kansas City win each of our games the next 2 weeks, we want San Diego to beat KC in Week 17.

I read that three times and I still can't follow it. :chuckle:

Here is what we should hope for to win the division:

-Browns win out & we're in above Baltimore.
-Pittsburgh loses 1 & we're above them.
-Cincy loses 1 more, other than to us, & we're in above them.

So (provided we win out), if Pitt wins this week & next week and Cincy beats Denver, division is out of the question (Pitt plays Cincy week 17).

so the browns, with a rookie quarterback who has taken a total of 20ish offensive snaps this season... need to win out. including at baltimore week 17.

got it.

welp, see you guys next year.

We actually need Pitt's loss to be vs. Cincinnati or they need to lose two vs. ATL and KC. The ESPN Playoff Machine is apparently wrong.

Glad I wasn't the only one.

Either way, just win out and let that shit handle itself.

Sorry! Haha I tried doing the best I could. But the simplest way to put it is the Browns have a decent chance if they win out. A lot of the teams, especially in the Wild Card, they need to lose ONE game play some damn good team. We really need DEN and NEW battling for the #1 seed so they're playing in Week 17 just in case we need them to snag wins for us.

I just will never forget Indy starting fucking Jim Sorgi? when we were 10-6 and needed them to beat the Titans.

I need someone to break down all scenarios where we go 2-1 as well kthnx.

2-1 is definitely more likely.

I don't rule out winning out, though. The defense has been great. If Johnny can just get them down the field, into scoring range, we should be OK.

Only real threat is at the Rats. If we win Sunday, of course.

Yep, our odds drastically shrunk by inserting Manziel in. :fight (12):
