After considering this post in the gameday thread
The improvement on offense is amazing. Except Phil Dawson, I don't think the Browns miss any of their former offensive players of the last 7 years. Or really since 03 or so probably as well. Kevin Johnson could probably contribute, but that seems about it.
I got to thinking about who I would pick for my "Cleveland Browns since 1999 team". This is where I'm at right now

Offense:
QB- 2014 Brian Hoyer / 2002 Kelly Holcomb / 2002 Tim Couch
RB- 2010 Peyton Hillis / 2007 Jamal Lewis / 2005 Reuben Droughns
FB- 2007 Lawrence Vickers / 2005 Terrelle Smith
WR- 2013 Josh Gordon / 2007 Braylon Edwards / 2001 Kevin Johnson / 2004 Dennis Northcutt
TE- 2013 Jordan Cameron / 2007 Kellen Winslow
LT- 2010 Joe Thomas / 2006 Kevin Shaffer
LG- 2007 Eric Steinbach / 2002 Ross Verba
C- 2013 Alex Mack / 2005 Jeff Faine

RG- 2002 Shaun O'Hara / 2014 Joel Bitonio
RT- 2003 Ryan Tucker / 1999 Orlando Brown

Special Teams:
K-
2008 Phil Dawson
P- 2010 Reggie Hodges
KR- 2009 Josh Cribbs / 2002 Dennis Northcutt
PR- 2007 Josh Cribbs / 2012 Travis Benjamin
LS- 2007 Ryan Pontbriand

Looking at this list, I think it's easy to say that almost every player on here is capable of being surpassed.

With Brian's recent struggles, it feels strange to put him as the best QB since 1999, but I can't argue with his record so far. Only time will tell if he is really capable of leading a team, or if he is just a Trent Dilfer.

I think the combination of Crowell and West has great potential, though it is much too early to say they have eclipsed the production of Hillis, Lewis, or Droughns.

I will never forget Reggie Hodges running 68 yards in New Orleans.

I'll post the defense once I get it finished.

A couple names I would add. I am sure you considered all of them.

2007 Derek Anderson, even with the shitstorm of picks at the end of the year, 3700 yards and 29tds speak for themselves.

2002 Quincy Morgan, lead the NFL in YPC

2009 Jerome Harrison, his overall numbers were mediocre, but his last 3 games were epically good. Simialr argument could be made for 2002 William Green

Chris Gardocki, was our best player for a while. Pick a year.

I'd agree with that list. Seems as though Winslow and maybe Edwards were the only ones to have more than one good year. So I wasn't sad to see any of those players like Peyton Hillis go. ST though is at an all-time low now for the franchise since 1999.

I agree with the list but I would have looked to fit Derek Anderson and Quincy Morgan in there somehow. Tough call on 2002 Couch vs 2007 Anderson
