*Baker also is now T3rd in most passing TD in a single season by a Browns QB since the Browns returned in 1999.

*Since 1980, there have been only seven seasons in which a Browns QB has thrown more TD than Baker's 17.

*Since 1988, only seven times has a Brown had more rushing TD in a single season than Chubb's 6 this season.

That’s so remarkably sad

17 is literally a hair over 1/game over a full season

OP Updated.

*Since 1981, the only instances in which a Browns QB has thrown more TD than Baker's 18 this season:

*Chubb's 7 Rushing TD are the most since Crowell's 8 in 2014

*Landry is the 8th WR in Browns history to catch at least 66 passes in a single season

*Myles has the most sacks for a Browns player since Jamir Miller had 13.0 in 2001.

*Myles is also just 3.0 sacks away from having the most sacks in a single season

If Baker averages 29 completions for 374 yards and 3 TDs over the last 4 games he'll set the team records for completions and yards and tie for TDs.

If he keeps up his current pace over 4 weeks, he'll tie Sipe for 2nd in completions, move into 6th place in yards and join the huge tie for 6th in passing tds

Baker's averages after 11 games (I know he only played 1/2 + 1 drive vs NYJ, but he's also had 3 OTs, so I think calling it 11 games is fair)

22 for 34.2, 261.4 yds, 1.7 tds, .9 ints

Over 16 games, that would be 352 for 547.2, 4182.2 yards, 27.2 tds, 14.5 ints

OP Updated:

*Only six times since 1970 has a Browns QB thrown for more TD in a single season than Baker's 19

*Only five times since 1980 has a Browns player had more Rushing TD than Chubb's 8

*Chubb's 8 TD are also the (T)4th most Rushing TD by a Browns player since 1999 (and also T4th most since 1987)

*Landry's 69 Receptions are T5th most in a season by a Browns WR

*Myles now has the 3rd most Sacks in a single season

It's to a point where I'm excited for these thread updates and thinking about them during the game. This is the most excited I've been about the Browns since they came back.

I can’t wait to see that goof Weeden knocked off of the all time passing yards list

What a disaster

OP Updated:

*Baker has the most Completions in a single season by a Browns QB since Brandon Weeden in 2012

*He also has the 4th most Completions in a single season since 2002

*Baker is the 8th different Browns QB to pass for 3,000 yards in a season

*Out of those 8 QB's, only 4 have had a 3,000 yard season with a positive TD/INT ratio (Sipe, Kosar, Anderson, Baker)

*Only 4 times since 1990 has a Browns QB thrown for more yards than Baker this season.

*Only five times since 1970 has a Browns QB thrown for more TD in a single season than Baker's 21

*Landry's the 5th WR in Browns history to catch 70+ passes in a season

*Njoku's 50 Receptions are the 13th time a Browns TE has had 50+ catches in a season. He's the 6th different Browns TE to achieve such a season

*No Browns player has had more Receiving TD than Callaway's 4 since 2015.

OP Updated:

*Baker has the 4th most Completions & Passing Yards for a Browns QB since 1990

*He's also the 6th Browns QB to pass for 3,300+ Pass Yds

*Of those 6, only 3 (Sipe, Anderson, Baker) have also thrown 20+ TD

*Since 1983, only Derek Anderson has had more Pass TD in a single season than Baker's 24 this year.

*Since 1948, there have only been 7 seasons in which a Browns QB has thrown for more TD than Baker has this season.

*Chubb has the most rushing yards by a Browns player since Peyton Hillis in 2010

*Only 9 different Browns players have ever had more rushing yards in a season than Chubb's 972 this season

*Chubb is 1 of only 8 Browns players have ever rushed for 970+ yards with 8+ TD in a single season

*Njoku is the 5th different Browns TE to catch 53+ passes with 4+ TD in a season

*Myles now has the most QB Hits in a single season (since at least '06)

MoFlo, I really appreciate you taking all the time to do this. It is "can't miss/can't wait for the update stuff" !

By the way, I looked up Brian Sipe's and Bernie's numbers the other day, since they were of the era when I started following the Browns, and I gotta say.... myself and most people remember them and those teams MUCH more fondly then maybe what their records and individual accomplishments actually were!

You look at Sipe, and he had the 3, maybe 4 year stretch of good QB numbers ('78, '79', '80 and kinda not '81), and that were basically the only winning season's under him, with only 1980 being the ONLY year the team had 10+ wins.

And then Bernie had 8-9 seasons with the Browns, and his teams only had one season I think with 10+ wins, and he maybe only had 4 good statistical seasons throwing.

Just kinda puts the "modern" QB history of the Browns in perspective. The bar is not set real high for Mayfield, but I sure do like seeing him vault over it!

Gotta compare stats to the rest of the league for a fair comparison since all current passing stats are gassed up significantly from where they used to be.

For example...

Kosar had an 83.8 QB rating in 1986 which was good enough for 7th in the league. But an 83.8 QB rating would rank 29th in the league this year.

Ok...and his other years??

The point was, even tho Brian Sipe was my favorite Browns QB to this time, and to a slightly lesser degree, Bernie... myself and many others look back at that era with fondness... but statistically the Browns were really only good for a couple of years under their respective times, and as QB's, they both did not have that many good years. Still like them both and those teams... but rosed colored glasses for sure.

I grew up near Green Bay, Wisc and went to many Packer games as a child, but Bart Starr's stats are not eye popping, so I understand comparing by-gone stats to today's hyper offenses. (He NEVER threw 20 td's in a season EVER in his entire career.)

The point is many fans, myself included, look back at Bernie as one of the greats, but he wasn't even a top 5 QB in his era and barely top 10.

I love Bernie, but he was never as good for his time as Baker is proving to be,.

Sipe had a run of only 2 years being a top 5 QB, 79 and 80, but then he falls off a cliff. Not going to hate on Sipe, just a fact.
