Winter is a choice, I don't feel bad for these people after being 3 years removed from the Snow Belt.

I dont agree., There are financial, family, job and economic situations that prevent many from leaving. Further, 70 inches is extreme, even for Buffalo.

These people deserve our compassion and federal help just like hurricane victims.

They were rescued. I'm not sure about an Akron trucker, but the Niagara ladies' basketball team is out of the bus after over 24 hours being stuck.

6 feet of snow... that is just insane. I can't even fathom that, and I had family that lived in Colorado and we visited a couple times when blizzards of 3 feet hit. This is over twic that. I'm never complainnig of Cleveland weather again.

I dont get the family thing because I dont relate, but I get it.
Depending on very specific and infrequent situations, I get the work thing.

Right...and some people have familial responsibilities in an area that they can't just pick up and move.

And if you have a great career and roots in an area, snow and cold weather is a small price to pay.
