Building a Gaming PC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Thanks AuxiliaryPie. No problem with bottlenecks? E.g., is your GPU under 100% load with the CPU under less than 100% load in gaming?

nah no bottlenecks at all, at least not for gaming. Good luck finding a game that will max out an i5

and i run everything on stock settings

I know Crysis 3 will perform slightly better on a 4-core i7 than an i5 at the same clock at very high system spec, and quite a bit better on one of the Haswell-E hexacores or octacores, but I think that's the only game out there right now.

Nothing like tearing apart your heatsink/cooling fan to clean out the built up dust to have the damn plastic mounting bracket break. Yay. Just what I wanted to do, order a new heatsink...

Currently building my first PC, just ordered the MSI 970 from Newegg, pumped.

Gonna have to drive out to Microcenter in Mayfield Heights sometime this week to get a Cpu/Mobo combo deal.

Already received the monitor, cpu cooler, and psu.

I know! I can't wait to play games that I could never play on my laptop like Planetside and modded Skyrim.

I got a code with it for a free download of one of Assassin's Creed Unity, The Crew, or Far Cry 4. I'm leaning towards Far Cry, because ACU supposedly is loaded with bugs and The Crew BETA was underwhelming from what I've read.

Far Cry 4 is solid. Been playing a cracked version before I killed my computer. Just an excellent game. Wife said if I find a new job by the end of the month I can order an evga 970 and some new ram... Will just need a new case and cpu/mobo and I'll be all set with a new rig. I can get by with the drives and psu I have.

Yeah, I've read that everyone should stay far away from the PC version of Unity. I bought Far Cry 4 but haven't played it yet. Downloaded it over night and will check it out when I get home from work.

Yay, my cooling fan/heatsink arrived today. And it sticks out the side of my computer, so no side casing for me.

i want a CPU cooler to make my rig silent, but
1. affraid of getting one thats too big and
2. dont wanna spend the money
