call of duty 2014

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What didn't you like about it?

Okay. I'm going to start off by saying that I'm as big of a Call of Duty lover/defender as probably about anybody on this board. I've been playing since CoD4 and outside of Ghosts (and kind of MW3), there really has not been a game that I wasn't that big of a fan of. And even then, I'm fourth prestige max on Ghost and I think sixth on MW3.

I really have enjoyed the campaign on AW so far. It's very innovative and I love messing around with the Exo suits and abilities. I just do not like how it has transferred online.

You shoot somebody, they fly away. If you're not using an AR (either the BAL, AK-12, or HB3), then you get wrecked, unless you are a supreme quickscoper with that rail gun. The maps have a ton of verticality to them, but they are still overall very small. Spawns are easily far and away the worst I have seen in ANY game, not just Call of Duty. I've had multiple instances where I've either spawned literally right in front of somebody, or I've watched somebody spawn and gotten a free kill. Those Exo Abilities are a complete joke. There is no Dead Silence unless you use that Exo Ability that lasts about five seconds. I'm not doing that bad in this game (1.28 K/D, which is down from Ghosts, but up from BO2), but it just seems like I'm always dying and I still find a way to get pissed if I go double positive.

There are plenty of positives, such as the scorestreak upgrading and the weapon variants. I love that the Pick 13 system is back. I just hate the maps, and I hate everybody flying away if I get a bullet on them.

I tried playing the 'Classic' mode where the Exo suits are basically turned off, but those games are just camp fests since half the map is inaccessible since we can't do the double jump.

I'm really, really, really trying hard to enjoy this game, but I just have not been able to do it thus far.

Decided to buy it. My first cod game since Ghosts. Campaign looks like a lot of fun.

nvm I'm really good so I like it now

Enjoyed the campaign. CoD is too arcadey to be honest, felt like it didn't used to be that way but all the weapons always feel too light and don't have any oomph behind them, and the combat just isn't that satisfying. But I did enjoy the campaign as I said. Story was typical CoD, cheesy moments, super unrealistic plot, etc but Spacey was pretty cool and it had the typical CoD moments that make you go, "That was awesome," like grapple killing ASTs and some of the nicer set pieces.

I liked the Modern Warfare campaigns a bit more though. I'm sure we'll see Advanced Warfare 2, Advanced Warfare 3, etc.

Anywho, gonna hop online tomorrow.

the only things I hate is

1. You die to quick. They get 3 bullets on you and your basically done
2. Maps are to dark. Everyone is wearing black and it gets hard sometimes to see people
3. Sniping. Ive never been hardscooped in this game and ive been killed by tons of snipers, stop in mid run pull up and shoot sniper, duck around the corner and pop back out 2 seconds later and just shoot sniper, getting shoot and still able to get a shot off sniper.
4. The connections. I bounce from one to four bars all the time

im having fun but 90% of my crew gave up after ghost or bought it on xbone so im just lone wolfing, where im use to sorry we already got 6 and plenty of texts saying anyone up for some cod

I heard they have a patch resolving a lot of the issues by releasing the Halo: MCC on Tuesday.

Unless the devs behind the worst Halo fucked up the best Halo's. I don't really understand where the faith comes from with these guys.

And what if they do mess up a remake? It might be some small thing that they do to mess it up, but it'll be a mountain after 4. This remake had better be perfect, or the Halo series will lose a lot of its fanbase.

And with the news of ADS, and sprint being in Halo 5, I don't see where the faith comes frim.

I've been playing Hardcore for the past two days, and I'll tell you, I'm in love. I never seriously got into playing HC in any of the past CoDs, but it is a must for me in AW now.

The wave/timed spawning system fixes a lot of issues on that front, plus gunfights are falling in my favor much more often. It seems like a lot of the bullshit gets eradicated in there.

I just wish Momentum was in Hardcore and I'd be set.

I'm struggling to adapt to gamepad shooting. Too used to mouse/keyboard. Fucking console shooters.

Still having fun with it I guess.

Still some of the best maps were COD2 maps. I did not buy this game and not sure if I will. I don't really play to often and I am probably not going to buy a Xbox One or PS4, so is there a point?

I get COD likes to be close quarters and more run/gun. Just liked how in COD2 you had to be real careful moving, etc..It was camping without the camping.

This is my first COD ever as I was always a Battlefield guy but I'm having a blast with it so far.

Has there ever been a more obvious impending twist in a video game than Kevin Spacey turning out to be the bad guy in this game? It would have been a bigger twist for him to have not been a bad guy. :chuckle:
