Carrick Felix traded to Jazz for Lucas, Murphy, and Thomas

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The three new guys can not be combined with other salary in a trade for 60 days unless we get ourselves under the cap. So unless we have a deal lined up for a $1 million player where we can send one of them, they will be here a while.

You're forgetting the most interesting tidbit here: instead of acquiring a guy with two first names, we acquired THREE. Six first names. That's not an easy feat.

How many Murphys do you know? Besides Murphy Brown.

If Wiggins, Jones, and Miller haven't officially signed we are under.

Will be separate trades. Lucas for Felix first with cap space. Not sure they can move Murphy fast enough if the trade can't be split into 3 parts so he will be cut.

I played middle school football with a guy named Murphy. Our coaches used to make lame ass puns like "bring Murph to the turf". That's the only one that comes to mind. But, I get your point, it's a stretch.

I don't think they'll keep Murphy, but maybe they will let him go guaranteed on August 1 just so they can have him. Lucas is the guy for trading purposes they'd want, so any deal the Cavs expect to make is 60 days away unless they have something the want to trade him for in a one-to-one deal. He's not good for much salary alone - only $2.4M. But he could get a former first rounder on a rookie contract back.

Check that, according to Mark Deeks, they're over by 106k meaning that one of the players can't be aggregated. He speculates Murphy, but could be Thomas if that's a guy they're potentially interested in keeping.

Means if they cut Murphy that they're under? If that's the case then they could aggregate Haywood and/or Lucas in a deal. I think they just have to be under the cap when the trade is initiated to allow them to not have to wait 60 days.

I think this is for a smaller trade to get a C.

Harris signed a two year guaranteed deal as well. So the Cavs are over the cap. I don't see them doing a big trade any time soon unless it involves Waiters. I expect Wiggins to sign and we may see smaller deals.

I wonder if Powell will be signed or if he'll end up playing in Europe.
