EDIT: The one thing you did leave out in your comparison though, Jigo? Short lifespans. For Bradley, that would obviously refer to his NBA career...

I was aware of the comparison and almost put it in before I checked Shawn's stats. Dude played for 10 years, which is a pretty long time. Unfortunately, his career is longer than the lifespan of a lot of Irish Wolfhounds which sorta depresses me. :sad:

First one we had died at 7, which is the average lifespan. He was healthy, but came down with a respiratory illness and that was that.

One we have now will turn 8 next April (I think... I've lost track though). Seems healthy, but you never can tell with these dogs. First one didn't have any health issues, still kicked the bucket at 7.

I feel like I'd just be worried about everything once the dog hit 6. Couldn't handle it.

Ugh. My sister in law bought my dog a goddamn pink polka-dot coat. My mother in law and wife were giving me all kinds of shit when I flipped out about it. They have this horrible belief that dogs NEED to wear clothing when they go outside in the cold. Only man-made breeds like their pussy Maltese need coats. Most other dogs are descendent from wolves and have goddamn fur to protect them outside. I flipped my shit when they told about it. I know that the second I disappear into another room during our Pennsylvania trip that they'll have that dog prancing around in the coat and immediately tag it to my facebook.

I don't know how my father in law managed to live for so many years in a household of four women...

Yeah... even though he was old, he was in such good shape that it came as a shock. I was away at school when it happened, which was both good and bad. I had just been home for Spring Break the week prior and, and he was great. Happened so fast. When he died, we'd already had the second one, which kind of took the sting away.
