Won't contribute at all. "Do something to make it look like we did something this off-season"move.

We need an insurance big. At this stage our options are either get Kaun or re-sign Perkins. Who do you think would contribute less?

Not sure how well it would translate to the NBA but the guy does have a 70% career FG% in europe. He would be a lot more ready to play at the NBA level than Christmas. Great insurance against Andy's health and us losing either TT or Mozgov to free agency/trade.

He takes three, maybe four shots a game. That 70% is off shots where he's so open, he really just has to shoot

It'd be nice just to have another big dude to throw in there against a Dwight/Gasol/other big C if Mozgov gets hurt or ends up in foul trouble.

Sounds like TT then. :)
Lol. Or JJ hickson, ya

Was gointo make the comparison to tt except wthout threbounding and nba acceptable defense

But at 1/15th the price!

I don't have my heart set on the guy, just think we could do worse for a minimum type contract. If there's a good NBA guy who will play for that money, that would work too. Haven't been impressed with Christmas so far, Pointer looks interesting though.

I know it will be a big transition but I'd be willing to bet Kaun is no scrub. I believe he was the starting center on the 2012 Olympic team and has looked pretty decent at high levels of competition. And for taking Perk's minutes, he will be fine. Also will be good for chemistry with the internationals on the team, specifically Mozgov.

Perk would probably be at about 20% with a similar shot selection, so yeah, Kaun would be a good emergency big.

Here's part 1 of the Bobby Marks' tweet:

It's only summer league, of course, but X-mas hasn't been too impressive in the games. Not at all sure he is an NBA player. I certainly would be reluctant to give him guaranteed money at this point. I guess they have till the Sept 6th deadline to decide whether to extend him a tender.

Not sure Kaun is either, and I don't have much of an opinion on him. No one has been able to explain why his rebounding rate is consistently so poor. I guess the reason is that he is a bad rebounder.

I don't think that X-mas, Kaun, and Perkins are the only options for 5th big. Surely there must be someone else out there.

I'm not a scout or anything, but I wonder when some team will give Khem Birch a chance. Has the game of a center but undersized for a PF let alone a center, he continues to put up big numbers in summer league, just as he did in the D League last year and UNLV before that. Blocks shots, rebounds, and finishes around the basket.

We do realize it was perk vs. Many people before it became perk vs. Kaun, right?
