It's not normal at all for players to follow other teams on twitter/instragram.

Maybe if they were previously on that team, but even that seems odd. Definitely not a team they're not linked to at all.

Sounds like something might be going on. Otherwise I have a huge problem with a player on the Cavs following another NBA team on instagram.

I agree. First I thought: "well, it's Andy, maybe he's got a friend over there." Then I thought about the timing, and really how dumb it would be to follow another team's official page. Players, okay- but official pages? Just think that's odd. Also, to the poster above- I'm no expert, but pretty sure it said that he JUST started following them, otherwise....why would I see the "real time" update?

Looking through Andy's Twitter and Instagram accounts, he follows many other NBA players/teams. Also, Instagram doesn't order followers by the date of following. So Conley and the Grizzlies account were most likely not the most recent accounts he followed

I'm not on social media, so maybe I have no idea how it works. But why would a player, not linked to another team, give a shit about them enough to follow their account?

Is it just politeness? Other players around the league, I get that, and who cares about that. But other teams?

Weird, maybe its good I never got into social media. Sounds kinda lame.

@Cayman13, why must you pull on these heart strings?

I'd be the worst GM in the league. I can't seperate emotions from what ultimately is the smartest, most beneficial sporting decision..

Me either, I love Andy. He's one of my favorites, have his jersey, an autographed Cavs basketball, etc. Love the guy and dont want to trade him. But....I get the business. Hope it's not true tho.

Am I the only one that believes he would still contibute if he played next year?
He is always productive when he isn't injured, is he 100% going to get injured? lol

That's because it is kinda lame. FWIW, after some serious #analysis and not stalking whatsoever, I found out Andy follows 3 NBA team accounts, other the Cavs. Memphis, San Antonio, and the Warriors. Yepp. Can't have him back now.

He's just studying up the competition.

I follow Andy and also saw it after you pointed it out. He just started following them like 10 min before your post about it.

Despite his injury history, I would have felt optimistic about Andy being a very solid bench big for us playing 15-20 minutes per game. However, the particular injury he is coming back from (achilles) is one where almost no one (especially over 30 y/o) comes back from and resembles their previous self. So while I'd love to see Andy provide some important contributions to the team - and in a role that he was made for as an energy big off the bench - I'm not going to get my hopes up at all.

Speaking of the Grizzlies:

They have been looking at Gallinari for awhile now.

A swap of Jeff Green for Gallinari makes a lot of sense. Grizzlies get more shooting which they really need.

The goal would be to somehow convince the Nuggets to give us Green for Haywood. Not sure if that is possible at all.

But:

Irving/Williams/Delly
Shump/Smith/Harris
LeBron/Green/Miller
Love/Tristan/Jones
Moz/Varejao/Christmas

Would pretty much be a perfect roster to me.

Would have like Gerald Green at that money. That's somewhat of a miss.

I mean, this makes total sense if Denver is simply looking to dump salary. I'm unsure of what they're interested in doing, but Green would be a tremendous fit here. He can play SF and PF. A small ball lineup of Irving, Shump, Green, James, and Love would still be rather strong defensively, particularly on the perimeter.

If you were able to have a second unit of Mo, Smith, Green, TT, and AV, that is fucking tremendous. Throw in Delly and you have the deepest team in the league.

I wonder if Andy ever reads all these posts from people who adore him and thinks to himself, "Damn these guys are weird. I'm just in it for da cash money."
