He would be a fool to pass that up. But maybe its smarter to take a lttle less and go somewhere that isnt a disaster.

Surprised kings arent even trying to take a run at LMA. Him with Cousins would be sick.

That 4 year contract is big though. Dallas are offering a 3 year contract with $12 Million. Now, if we consider that he won't have to pay extra tax in Texas, there ain't much between the $12 Million/3 Years Dallas are offering and the $15 Million/3 Years that Kings were offering. But this completely changes the dynamic. He will be getting $1 Million more extra and one more year. He should take it, really. Its not like if Dallas gets him, they will be a contender.

What's the point. He's not giving up money by leaving Portland to join a team with no chance at winning a title. I mean he didn't even give the Knicks a meeting.
At least the Kings could try. I mean, the Suns were supposedly a front runner and I don't think they are contenders. Better than the Kings but just sayin.

Also, he took two meetings with the Lakers. Lakers are in a worse spot than the Kings. Farther in a rebuild and their "superstar" is a 40 year old ball hog.

(Kings mortgaging the future was really dumb though, but Lakers dont have any picks themselves for like 3 years) .

ESPN sources say Robin Lopez has chosen Knicks over Lakers and will join NYK as long as DeAndre Jordan, as expected, chooses Clips or Mavs

Not sure what I like more... Locking up KLove for 5 years, or the fact that the Lakers aren't getting anything.

Lopez or Deandre would be an important get for the Knicks. Heck, Lopez should have been a priority over wanting Monroe. Getting a defensive big who can board and do the dirty work is important while Porzingas and Melo are in the front court.

Quick update on status of some potential FA targets for the Cavs at PG and SF that I had identified leading up to free agency:

PG

I thought this free agent class was particularly weak. There were some candidates potentially available for what the Cavs have to spend (mini MLE and minimum contracts). They are all still available.

Mo Williams -- Jared Zwerling from Bleacher Report prematurely tweeted Mo was going to MEM on a "3 or 4 year deal." But now the only options MEM has to sign him is their BAE. MMLE would trump that. As we know, Mo has been linked with Cavs.

CJ Watson -- Reportedly wants full MLE, but what he wants and what he ends up getting are different things. Never linked to Cavs to my knowledge.

Norris Cole -- New Orleans extended $3M QO, and rumors linking him with Cavs have cooled.

Beno Udrih -- Never linked to Cavs. Fact MEM interested in Mo suggests they aren't interested in Udrih and/or Calathes.

Nick Calathes -- Never linked to Cavs. MEM has extended $1.1M QO.

Jeremy Lin -- Never linked to Cavs to my knowledge.

Aaron Brooks -- Never linked to Cavs. Has been a minimum guy in recent years, but generally with an outsized role.

Ok, for the SFs. Lots more of them have committed to a team. I am only listing those that I had identified as potential FA targets for the Cavs (thus I don't include Demarre Carroll, Khris Middleton, Jae Crowder, and Al-Farouq Aminu, none of whom were ever realistic). I'm also including some names that others have mentioned.

Jonas Jerebko 2/$10M (re-signing with BOS)
Kyle Singler 5/$25M (re-signing with OKC)
Mike Dunleavy 3/$15M (re-signing with CHI)
Jared Dudley opted in and traded to WAS

Still available:

Mirza Teletovic -- Brooklyn extended $4.2M QO; will they withdraw it in view of tax bill?
Alan Anderson -- Wants $3-4M/yr per Brooklyn media
Richard Jefferson -- Not linked to Cavs (except in potential Bynum trade in early 2014).
Tayshaun Prince -- Linked to Cavs. Presumably would be a minimum guy.
Caron Butler -- Linked to Cavs. Presumably a minimum guy.
Corey Brewer -- Linked to Cavs last season. Most likely will command more than MMLE.
Omri Casspi -- No links to Cavs. Will he get MMLE type money? SAC busy with other things.
Wesley Johnson -- Not linked to Cavs. Will Lakers bring him back on a short term deal once they strike out with everyone else? Likely.
K.J. McDaniels -- Never thought he was established enough for the Cavs to pursue.
Michael Beasley -- MIA declines team option. Would absolutely amaze me if the Cavs were interested.
Landry Fields -- This is a guy you could get cheap. Was good for the Knicks; hardly played for TOR. Never linked to Cavs.
Luc Richard Mbah a Moute -- Never linked to Cavs.
Jeremy Evans -- Another guy you could get on a minimum contract.

Well if Deandre is between Mavs and Clips, guess that means Robin to NY is official? Do Knicks have any cap left?

Let's be excited!
