Maybe Markeiff Morris is more realistic than Bledsoe. I wonder if they would give us Markeiff and PJ Tucker for Haywood and some sort of throw in. Markieff has had some trouble with the law and he's not exactly cheap for them at 8 mil a year. He also I think insulted the Suns fans recently if I'm not mistaken.

PJ Tucker would be a good 3 and D guy that could play SF. Seems like he would fit the "grit squad" mold.

It would be sort of how we did the Shumpert JR trade where we are kind of getting Tucker as the good player while Markieff would be the troubled asset. I just gotta wonder if Phoenix feels good having so much of their fortunes tied up in the Morris twins.

do you really want another undersized floor spacer?
Every player on the team needs a role and I don't think the Cavs need another average stretch four..

I love PJ Tucker though.

I'm kinda looking at it as the Haywood contract for Tucker and then Markieff being a throw in that the Cavs could afford to cut if necessary down the line. No idea really, just something that looked feasible when I looked at the Suns payroll. Markieff could be a good option as a stretch 4 if we either lost Love, he got hurt, or if he's resting on the bench.

So, Trevor Lacey has a nice stroke and quick release, I wouldn't be surprised if he was playing for Canton.

We *could* trade away future 1sts... 2018 and 2020, for example.

I do not see Phoenix being interested in that though, but who knows.

Because of the protections on the 2016 pick that the Cavs traded to Boston, the Cavs cannot unconditionally trade their 2018 pick. That prevents them from trading the 2020 pick without some very odd protections that are probably not desirable by other teams.

Cavs could ask Boston for permission to strip the conditions on the 2016 pick so that it has no protection, but that's probably not a good idea. Last time the Cavs did that (in order to swing the Jiri Welcsh trade), it came back to bite them.

Indeed it did. I think it would be a much safer bet this time around, however. But if LeBron and got injured, it could definitely bite the Cavs in the butt.

thoughts on Mike Dunleavy? if we get a backup PG with the Haywood contract he would be one of the players i would target with the Tax MLE. he's basically everything Mike Miller was supposed to be (and he's a much better defender than Miller imo).

If the Cavs could somehow find the money, I would like to see them pursue Centers,
Hassan Whiteside or bring back Henry Sims for the bench.

Hassan Whiteside...is not coming here.

Whiteside is under contract another year with the Heat so keep dreaming. If he plays like he did last year, he is going to get a big offer.

is Henry Sims still even in the NBA? :conf (11):

I have seen more stupid posts on here then I can ever remember. The lack of knowledge by the average poster has really gone downhill.

According to this, Whiteside is an UFA, and Sims is a restricted RFA that the 76s have no need to keep.

That link is wrong. He signed a two year deal with the heat.
If Whiteside was a free agent he would be one of the biggest free agents on the market and you would be hearing a lot more chatter about him aka we wouldn't have the money to sign him.

The link be wrong isn't my fault, and I agree, Whiteside would be a prime free agent target.

EDIT: My mistake, the link is implying, this coming year is not gaureenteed for Whiteside. As you pointed out Miami will surely pick up that contract.
