Cavs (5-1) @ Memphis (2-4) | ESPN - 8 p.m. Eastern

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Agree but, Kyrie is a PG, he should have the ball in his hands.. Also he is the better player.
As much as I agree that Waiters should/would be a starter on almost any other team he probably won't be on this team. He will play with the starters a lot but I would be surprised if he started the entire season.

Yes, he will. The reason people want Dion on the bench, so he can command the ball and run the 2nd unit, is not going to happen. Why can't people realize that? You are never going to see the trio of Love, Kyrie, or LeBron all on the bench at the same time, so where will Dion be given the time to "command the 2nd unit", which is the only reasoning I ever see for why he shouldn't start. We need his defense, we need his 3 point shooting, and we need his passing in the starting unit when there are a lot of questions surrounding the defensive side of the ball. And I've said it before, I'll say it again. Just because you start doesn't mean you can't run with the 2nd unit. Blatt is already doing that with Dion, yet I feel like I am the only one who notices.

I have seen more than one fast break with the ball not touching the ground..
Passed the whole way. This has me more excited than anything!

It's the preseason, a time when guys need to be a little selfish to earn a roster spot. Amazing!

gottagive Miller props there...he was all over that loose ball

And I hear you. I know your post was tongue-in-cheek but it also demonstrates my point that it matters less who starts the game, and more who FINISHED the game.
If it doesn't matter, why not just start Dion? He is going to take his lumps learning to play with the big 3, but he and we will be better for it in time.

Also while I dont accept the behavior I wouldn't want to risk him shutting down or locker room issues just to have him not start for whatever reason.

Woah.

There is a difference between have the ball in your hands as a PG and dribbling the ball for 15 seconds. And Waiters seems to be a perfect fit as a starting 2 in this offense.
I am not disagreeing with you. I think he could start and play a HUGE role off the bench later in the game. I love Dions game! He is IMHO THE X factor for this team this year. (Also TT)
I believe, ultimately that he will come off the bench as it would be tough to stat, and then sit after a short burn, and then.. come back in a contribute right off the bench. Just my opinion.

Just 3 assists in 24 minutes. Now i see why LeBron will have to play in super passive mode this year just to get the rest of the guys involved because Kyrie is mostly going to look for his own shots.

has Miller made a shot in the preseason? If he wasnt friend of Lebron he would be cut?

He was a lot better last year

Older guy might be better to keep him rested

I'm sorry but Tristan just doesn't get it yet on offense. I honestly think he never will develop an offensive game.

pretty sure he wouldn't be cut ...lol

It's one thing to watch Irving and see his offensive gifts. I just wish he had a little more LeBron in him in regards to how he approaches the game. In the playoffs, when defenses are clamping down, he's going to need to rely on his teammates.

He had a good game on paper but did he utilize the tools around him?
