Cavs inquired on Love, Aldridge and Gasols?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Gonna agree with everything..how would LA get Love without another team?

Regardless, this is where I can see it going. Within the next 2 years, probably before the summer of 2014, we will make a game impacting move. They've been hoarding the assets for a while now, but I think someone will indeed bite as most of the franchises are running out of ammo (salary) to get guys. We'll be in the 10-20% range of teams who can take on players and give a lot of assets, space, and picks.

This would be one of those moves. The "home run" move. Even if this doesn't seem likely, there will be more you guys will hear about in rumors to the deadline. I still think despite all of the donations, these types of rumors will cause a temporary crash. It'll heat up throughout the deadline week, then into the draft, then the summer, etc.

As for these moves: Those teams aren't in a panic yet. Once they see what's at stake, then we might see them collapsing. I really am uncertain about Pau, but he fits the right type of move (I guess) a guy that might not be in the best environment. If the others become available, it's fine.

Let's start the engines! To the deadline!

Only, they can't. They have virtually nothing else to add to the trade. Their cupboards are bare. We have other assets to add in. They don't. You don't get Love for Gasol without additional assets.

This guy gets it.

The fun begins... But seriously, I feel like we will make some big trade this deadline for a pretty big-named player and obviously Andy will be in the center of it.

Its not something I would personally rule out, but it's not as likely unless the Cavs give up multiple draft picks to acquire either Aldridge or Love.

As much as I would love to have either one of those two next to Kyrie Irving, the chances aren't likely.

Still should be fun to discuss for two months, however.

unless he breaks something else

Merry Christmas all. Hate to be the scrooge to say this...

But if this had been the plan all along, then we probably should have drafted the BPA with every draft pick after Kyrie.

I could see Minnesota or Portland valuing a trade with JV or Drummond much higher than what CG is calling with at the moment.

Well I still think Waiters is highly valued by many organizations if he continues to show he can have a future as a a 17-18 ppg scorer! Despite not being an eliete draft a top 4 pick in 2013 is also very attractive, you add in Andy and that package would open up alot of doors for a top 20 talent! It seems to me that getting Lebron back is now offically a significant part of the plan! First, they have to add a top 20-25 nba talent to go along with Kyrie, and I guess anyhting is up for grabs to get that done! This is significant news and belongs in the main fourms! They understand that we can't just draft our way out of this and we in fact plan on using the draft to reel in a big fish before the summer of 2014! I am curious to see Max's response!

I think this is very good news, and maybe the temptation of an unprotected drafy pick in 2o14, will open up alot of doors due to the projection of the draft class. Imagaine keeping our 2013 pick adding a guy like Granger or LA, and also landing a Len, Bennett or Muhammad! That makes the Cavs major players in Lebron's mind ! I actaully think that convincing Lebron to come back is the easiest part of the plan (but it is contingent on us making a large trade, which is the hardest part of the plan to pull off! This makes the Bynum rumors all make sense! By the way just for fun Waiters, Zeller Andy and a 2014 unprotected and the SAC pick is a very very fair offer for Love or any other top notch all star talent!

Jesus. Do you have to bring up JV and Drummond in every single fucking thread? You have to be the most bitter Cavs fan alive.

Just my idea

Minnesota gets: Pau Gasol, Dion Waiters, and our mid 1st(Miami/lakers pick)

La gets: AV, Ridnour

Cleveland gets: Love, Roy

A little pipe dream but not as far fetched as people may think.
Minnesota gets a star back, a valued young player in Dion, a 1st round pick and Roy's mistake off the books. The Lakers alone couldn't do that. Ultimately I can't see minny trading Love this year period

still don't understand why minnesota would trade love for gasol + stuff. especially non-vets.

if the wolves are to trade love, they either go into a full rebuild or try to win now. they are dumb and seemingly believe the latter is possible, even though it is definitely not. anyway, the above trade is somewhere in the middle, but in the end accomplishes neither (and nothing).

Not sure i would call Dion Waiters and a 1st rounder "stuff"

I wouldn't call that a Scrooge statement cause I don't know that this is the "plan". I'm sure Grant and co. are taking players they are happy to have on their team (our opinions notwithstanding), but if an opportunity to grab a big name, you round up your assets and make a pitch.

Ignore what Drummond looks like now... At the time of the draft, if you truly valued another player over him, you can't just take the dude you think other guys will want hoping they'll trade for him. If you do, then you're Houston. It's insanely fortunate they ended up with Harden, cause after the Dwight train derailed, they were about to be in a deep hole with players they don't want.
