Cavs Interested in Kosta Koufos

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Cavs still interested in Koufos + Wes Matthews (to no avail) via Chris Haynes.

cavs should've been interested in matthews for a few years but at this point they have nothing to offer that even comes close.

As hard as it was for the Cavaliers to get some good players in with Lebron last go around (we failed), I'd be surprised if we actually get a decent center or SG that really work with the system this year. None of these teams want to give us our missing pieces just so they can snatch up Dion freakin' Waiters or whoever else. They realize we're getting quite close to being able to put a choke hold on just about everyone in the East for years to come.

At least I know if I were a GM I sure as heck wouldn't want to help the Cavaliers in their current position without getting something very good in return.

Either we get lucky, taking advantage of a desperate organization, or we can find a free agent at some point that wants to come to Cleveland for the championship prospects.

Oh good lord, yes please Wes Matthews.

No way they'll pry him away though.

Matthews is the ideal fit here, but no way we get him.

Wes is making 7+ mil, so it's either going to have to be for Dion and Mike Miller/Haywood or for Tristan. Don't think we would trade Dion and Mike for depth reasons. Don't think it would be worth it to use the Haywood contract here. Don't think we would trade him for Tristan since our big depth is already weak and I'm not sure LeBron is willing to let Tristan go.

It's too bad his contract isn't a little bit less because I would be willing to trade Dion and a pick or whatever straight up. But I don't think we could make it work with what we have.

Cleveland is high on Koufos, we're told. They view his talent as a remedy to their lack of protection around the paint. However, beyond this season, a team is going to have to make a financial commitment.

Longtime NBA agent Mark Termini, renowned as a masterful negotiator, represents Koufos. He is also the senior advisor of negotiations for Rich Paul's Klutch Sports Group agency. Termini has an excellent relationship with Cavaliers ownership and management.

With the Denver Nuggets holding firm on center Timofey Mozgov, Koufos appears to be the most logical bull's-eye. It's a waiting game at this point, a source said.

This sounds good. I like that Koufos' agent has ties to Chris Paul and the Cavs. That might help.

Also Haynes says that Griffin isn't afraid to make an unpopular deal. My guess is that could mean a player might be involved from our current squad that people don't want to see leave.

If the team gets better, I don't care who goes. Hopefully some deals will get done before too long to help fill the gaps we have.

Koufos had 2 blocks tonight in just 13 minutes of playing time. He's at 2.4 blocks per 36 minutes for the season, and that number will be going up after his outing tonight.

If this happens, I'm gonna guess it's more like:

Kosta Koufos for TPE

AND

Tayshaun Prince for Dion Waiters, Lou Amundson, and Alex Kirk

This would also free up a roster spot for one Jesus Shuttlesworth :D

Are we honestly still complaining about this trade? There was literally nothing else we could have done. If we decided to wait it out then there was a chance LeBron went back to Miami due to our inability to clear space.

Get over it.

Not going to derail this thread and add anything else after this post...but i disagree with that 100%. The owners panicked. Worst part is we were undoing a mistake they forced us into in the first place.

Western GM: "Jesus Christ, why didn't they call us??!!"
