Shumpert was just talking about this.. that does seem to be the case.

He's also talking about the hunger to win the whole thing this year, that everyone feels like they could pull more out of themselves to get over that hump.
 
Love actually snickering at a question about the thought process of signing a full five year extension this summer as opposed to a one year deal.. said he's laughing because "you guys didn't believe me all last year but I kept saying that's what I was going to do".. he talked about the hunger that everyone has. And how close this team is.. it sounds like he and Kyrie are pretty good friends in particular.
 
Love saying he may be a bit limited at first due to the shoulder, that there will be some scar tissue to work through but he worked hard this offseason to regain full range of motion and is confident he'll be ready to go.
 
Kyrie's big adjustment this season is to 'stay off the floor' so much. Less dribbles per possession.. I think we can expect more of an outside shooting/mid range type game/assists from him in order to hopefully stay healthy.

Follow up - when asked to expand on this, he is still going to drive the ball alot.. he feels that's what makes him what he is. He just wants to be more calculated about it.

I still think he's going to be signing with Boston this offseason...

I do get alot of the 2009 Lakers or 2012 Heat vibe. those Teams that came together and just barley missed the title the first year to come out on a mission angry and focused.

Love how everybody is in the same mindset. amazing.

Also what i just now realised... damn if we stay mostly healthy we are much deeper than i even realised till now.

I didnt want to get my hopes up but i can totally see that Kaun,Jefferson and Jones.. three guys not many expect to give real valuable minutes on a nightly basis.... do just that.

I can see Jefferson and Jones(or propably either of them taking turns)helping Lebron not needing to play more than 35mpg. I can see Kaun stepping in if Andy gets injured again(knock on wood) or needs just some rest(who says a guy like Andy NEEDS to play 82 games.. if Kaun produces Andy can rest whenever he needs to)

If thats the case with the rest of the bench in Mo,TT,Delly,Smith beeing who they are..

damn we are deep as hell.

In total contrast to last year we can even afford 1 or 2 injuries(i pray for 100% health of course..kock in wood again) and at least still have players who are not dead already from exhaustion because the bench is only 7 or 8 deep. Not this year.

They all look to have a fire in their eyes. Glad to hear they will be playing with that anger and passion. This won't be a regular season that we just go through the motions. If healthy, I expect the best record in the league.

It does seem to answer the question I had in the OP.. I think their goal will be to destroy the league this year.
