Corey Brewer Traded to Houston

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Good. I hope that's true. We are in much bigger need of a big than another wing. Delly, Dion, Harris, Marion, and LeBron can all defend the wing at average to elite levels (at least I hope LeBron gets back to that).

Umm.. Shouldn't you be the Trade God right now?

I need to type this out so I have a better understanding relating to the PF/C rotation.

48 pg at PF
48 pg at C
96 min total

-35 mpg for Kevin Love. All-Star stud
- 7 mpg LeBron/Marion just a guess

Now the Cavs are finding themselves in dire need for a Rim Protector. Whoever Joe Rim protector may be I'm guessing he would play about 20-25 mpg +/- depending on how he fits in and if he helps finish games

-22 Rim protector

32 minutes remain at the PF/C position

Cavs just gave AV 10 mill py contract
they also offered 10-12 mill py to TT. Clearly neither should be averaging more than 16 mpg. So I guess this works out. 20 mill a year for the 3rd and 4th big on a team sounds right. No? What gives?

Oh screw it..having trouble embedding this but
check this guy's twitter for more Flip posturing on a possible Brewer trade. This is the same guy that did all Flip's media bidding during the Love negotiations:

I'm guessing that this is the one you were talking about:

I love how Flip is acting like he's just the coach here and not the guy talking to the Cavs and Houston (as well as ESPN).

I think we ought to make a move for him. We need a 2 guard with length as much as we need a center imo

Eh Idk how true this is. I think we can work with what he have on the perimeter. Our inside defense combined with Love's refusal to rotate weakside or even put a hand up in the post will not improve. We need that shot-blocker badly.

Do we really have much room for another guard/forward in the rotation though? James Jones and Mike Miller aren't getting minutes as it is. Dion's role has already been reduced to 6th man, adding another guard will just take more minutes away from him. I get that it would lighten the load for Marion and Brewer is "better at defense", but he isn't that good.

I don't see much of a point, especially if Ray Allen wants to join in a couple months. I don't see much of a need for Brewer unless Dion or Miller are getting moved (which I doubt at this point). I'd wait until later to see what type of players become available closer to the deadline. Hopefully a decent big or better wing player. Don't see the need to use it on Brewer right now.

Miller and Jones aren't getting any time right now because Blatt doesn't trust them. This is not surprising for Jones, who hasn't played much in years, but a bit surprising for Miller. Maybe some are right and he will play more later in the year.

Clearly there are minutes at SG. Blatt understandably is reluctant to play Waiters, and seriously it's very unusual to rely on a rookie second rounder like Harris for any significant minutes. Delly is hurt, and his role ought to be to back up Kyrie anyway. And I don't think the Cavs envisioned Marion's role as the starting SG.

Now whether Brewer is the guy is another matter. I can see where he could help, but I'm not giving up anything for him at this point aside from the TPE, and so I suspect that means either Houston will get him or Minny will hold on to him for now.

I think Blatt knows that Miller won't pout if he doesn't get playing time. He also knows what he has in Miller, so I think he is giving Harris some extended run to see what he can give him.

True as Miller is a great locker room guy, but I also think it's because how bad Miller's defense has gotten.
