Cavs/Twolves/Celts 3 way idea

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Martin is a 2-time No Defense Player of the Year winner. "Good defender" is not something that should be attributed to Kevin Martin. Factor in his age and inability to stay healthy, his offense and non-existent defense are only going to decline.

I like Dieng, but in no way would I consider this trade as constructed. Furthermore, Dieng is looking like Minny's center of the future. They have no incentive to trade him, when he's on a cheap contract for 3 years.

Perhaps I am but the current set up isn't going to win diddly.

Denver is another team I'd like to explore. Losing AV killed us because now we need 2 bigs. I'd go after Mozgov or Nurkic along with Hickson, Afflalo or Foye (or both).

Tristan has trade value because he's young.... finding a way to flip him for 2 bigs would be ideal.

Afflalo makes tons of sense... Mozgov would be fine, but I wouldn't trade any major asset for him.

I don't think this makes sense for Minny. They have PFs and wings, so it doesn't make sense to trade their young, cheap center for more.

I just don't think this is the time yet to blow all of our assets. Let this thing play-out through the deadline or atleast end of January. The real question you have to ask, will this trade make use a lock for a ship? If not, why not keep trying to develop and wait till the off-season to fix the holes.

Current 8 or 9 man rotation -

Thompson
Love
James
Miller
Irving

Waiters
Marion
Delladova
and.... fill in the blank...(Haywood? Price? etc)

After this trade -

Dieng
Love
James
Martin
Irving

Wright
Miller
Marion
and fill in the blank....

Maybe it's just me but I think the 2nd list is better

Probably is just you.

Who controls the ball in the second unit or even his own shot? You've disintegrated our bench. Sure, it's not the most enticing of benches in the first place, but tossing out Waiters and Delly completely ruins any ball movement.

Martin would help the offense but not the defense. In addition, he has no upside.

I really like Dieng, but he has been a disappointment as a rim protector. Pick know he's young, but even young rim protectors begin showing their quality early in their career. If he were having a Larry Sanders type of effect on defense, maybe, but he's not and we don't know if he will.

We'd be better with Dieng and Martin and Wright but still not championship good so it wouldn't make any sense to spend every asset on them. We have to be patient, build chemistry, hope that Haywood can give us good minutes, and see what shakes loose near the trade deadline.

If it were up to me I would do a similar trade with Boston & Denver except I would trade Love.

Trade machine:
cavs get: mozgov, j nelson, jeff green, b wright

Celts get: Love, smoking joe harris

denver gets: 2 first round picks from boston

I don't think any of these trades are realistic though. Its all trades you make in a playstation game

That won't happen, you need realistic pieces.

But if you want to involve Tristan, Dion and 1st pick for a package you could probably try somehow getting back Mozgov, Afflalo, Brandon Bass. Those are 3 guys that are out there available for trades.

I have a great idea...

Cavs Get:
Wiggins
Bennet
Thaddeus Young
Zeller
Cavs 2016 1st round pick

Celtics Get:
All their cash back

Twolves Get:
Kevin Love

It's not just Dieng we'd be getting. Martin is a borderline all start SG. Plus Wright.

Dieng would give us 10/10 on average. And some much needed length.
lmao no. kevin martin is a glorified spot up shooter and more importantly, a revolving door on defense.

i'm very much open to moving thompson and waiters - way more so than most here - but not for an over the hill one dimensional sg, or a largely unproven center.
