Really not as concerned as a lot of fans seem to be, they still have no one that can defend LBJ or Kyrie effectively, plus we havent even seen the best of this Cavs group yet.

Im also fully against trading Love unless we get Westbrook in return lol. We shouldnt be worrying about matching up vs one team, we saw how that worked out.

I think with a healthy off season k love is gonna come back strong as Fuck next season

Before people freak out, just take a minute to remember we have LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love all on the same team. In addition to sharp-shooters like JR and Frye.

We are in great shape and have a truly great situation. We can compete with anyone, including Golden State.

I don't get this. OKC was arguably at least as good at GS this year......but now in order to sign Durant, GS will gut their depth, which was a huge part of their success. GS appears to be enamored w/star power and has forgotten how important depth and role players are, of which they had both this year.

@gourimoko

What are the benefits of trading Love this off season compared to later in the reg. season, where we have a better understanding of how the team is playing and his value may have gotten better?

Training camp and preseason, and the first half of the season where the team can gel. Other than that... there's no cap/salary reason why it's better.

The trade I'd like to do is Love for Butler. That'll be based on the Rondo experiment. Rondo typically doesn't work anywhere he goes... He's a great facilitator, but nobody likes him. It'll be interesting to see where the Bulls are by midseason and if Butler wants a trade if they're not playoff bound.

The Cavaliers have no choice but to trade Kevin Love this season if we hope to compete in the Finals.

They'll run Curry/Klay/Iggy/Durant/Green. Kevin has no matchup there.. It's not his fault, it's just reality.

I'd put Love on Iggy, James on Durant, and TT on Green. I'll live with that any day.

GS is not gutting their depth...

They're cutting the fat

They're losing Ezeli/Barnes.. those guys are GARBAGE.

They're losing Speights from the bench, and maybe Brandon Rush...

They're keeping Iggy and Livingston, and very likely Barbosa and Varejao.

They are adding Kevin Durant.. They will play 2 of their starters with the bench, which means Durant will very likely lead the second unit with Livingston and maybe Iggy.

They are not weaker. They do not lack role players. They still have a bench.

Warriors better hope Draymond doesn't get injured or they won't go anywhere. NO interior protection at all at this point. Wonder what will be left on the market. The mMLE isn't real useful when everyone has to get above $85M (they don't HAVE to, money will just be distributed about roster, but it has pushed salaries up significantly, even in middle), we will see what's left and how teams manage their cap space, because there may not be much left, esp with CLE, G.S. & SAS all competing for Min. Vet contracts to fill out squad....

They lost Bogut as well and I doubt they keep Barbaso who is worth at least what Delly got in the FA.
Losing Bogut, Barnes, Ezeli, and Barbaso (i'll eat crow if I'm proven wrong on this) will absolutely make they're bench weaker and significantly so IMO. They were able to match everybody and exploit mismatches as good as anybody I've seen. The Cavs may have swept the Finals without Bogut and Barbaso. When they lost that Swiss Army knife ability just with Bogut it totally changed the series. Yes a lot of these guy play only 10-20 mpg but that is what made GS special you couldn't ease up on them even when the Splash Brothers were off.

Now Durant is a HOF talent who may make what I posted simply mute because of his talent but they will be a very different team next year and they are very vulnerable to foul trouble particularly with Green and getting worn down in the middle

We're in complete agreement on Butler, and I think it would be a worthwhile risk to take, to wait until a bit into the season and see if the Bulls end up falling apart at the seams. when you think of the east getting better, the Bulls getting if not worse then at least more unstable with the addition of Rondo, and the alleged tension between Butler and Hoiberg, I think it would be smarter for the Cavs to wait it out a bit. Who knows, maybe Love finds his old game during the summer, or maybe Shump becomes more reliable, or maybe Kyrie takes massive leap.... None of these are of course absolutes, but I just don't like the idea of the Cavs panicking and rushing into a trade on the heels of their first championship in over 50 years, even if the rest of the league is panicking right along with us.

They got way better, but way softer losing Bogut and company.

I'm not suggesting trades, just hypotheticals.

We got to Finals playing elite spread the court basketball, but we won the Finals playing grind it out ISO and own the boards 90s style basketball once Bogut went down.

What does a Love for Boogie trade where we just decide we're going all ISO and good luck trying to get a rebound look like? Keeps Boogie from possibly ending up in Boston. Who beats us in East? I don't think anyone.

It's not even the direction of basketball I prefer watching, but is it smarter given what golden State just put together? We couldn't beat them at their game pre-Durant, is it time to counter by amassing a physically imposing beast inside presence? Idk the answer, I'm just asking

I was trying to make this point in another thread. This means Green is likely guarding Love, LBJ, or TT at all times. Love takes him out of the paint, LeBron gets him in the P&R, and TT fights him on the boards.

If Green is their only "Rim Protection" then anytime he's on Love or Lebron the lane will be wide open.

June 16th 2016-July 3rd 2016

The short time period a portion of Cavs fans allowed themselves to truly enjoy the season, the games, the EC playoffs, the title, and the efforts made by the Cavs players, coaches, FO, and coaches.

July of 2015-June 15 2016 and July 4th 2016: all spent obsessing over another teams roster, anther teams style of play, another teams record, whether our wins would really mean anything against that other team, why our coaches weren't coaching good enough to beat that other team, why our players just weren't going to be able to get it done against that other team, why this player should be traded because we have to react immediate to that other teams moves.

I feel sorry for the people who really only allowed thenselves and the people around them that 3 week window between game 6 and today.

And if this doesn't apply to you, don't get defensive. But there ate absolutely people on this board that this applies to and fits to a T

Thanks LeBron, Kyrie, Kevin, JR, Tristan, Iman, RJ, Channinhg, Delly, Mo, Timo, Champ, Dahntay, Jordan, Sasha for winning this title for us.

Thanks to Coach Lue and the staff

Thanks to Dan, Griff, FO and rest of the ownership.

I hope you guys are hard at work, but I also hope you guys are enjoying and savoring this deeper and longer than a lot of the fans.

Pachulia fits well with them: really did well as passing hub type last year in Dallas.
