Cedar Point 2016

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Last year, the park tore down its Good Time Theatre and removed Turnpike Cars, which left a large piece of vacant land where the new ride (or rides) are expected to be located.

Dang, they tore down the ice theater thing? That was the most reliable place to find air conditioning on a 90 deg. day...now that Disaster Transport is gone...

Oh wow, it's a dark ride...just like Dist Tpt- cool...

Wonder if it'll be enclosed with A/C? :chuckle:

This stuff was leaked but seemingly unconfirmed.

Basically it looks like it'll be a dive machine as rumored, with three inversions, two vertical drops and likely to be the tallest/fastest/longest of its kind. Only 9 in the world, only 2 in the US. But the design seems very similar to the ones already in the US. Nothing too groundbreaking but certainly a cool new installation.

I really hope they find some way to add a theming element like a tunnel or a water splashdown like some other dive machines out there. And I hope someday they make use of the lake on a ride personally.

For those unaware, if this is the ride, it will be by B&M, same guys who made Raptor, Mantis and Gatekeeper.

I've also read that Cedar Point might jump into the world of VR with a roller coaster at some point. Also also I've read that Cedar Fair has added dark rides to a lot of parks, so that may be in the future as well.

I saw that but I also saw one where there was a complete loop in it, so I think there are a couple designs floating around. But anyway, here is a POV ride someone with a lot of time on their hands did of this layout:

Where did you see that? As far as I know they've never built one of these with a traditional loop as part of the design. The trains are really wide so they have utilized different inversions like the immelmann in the design above.

Roller coasters are dead.. They don't scare me anymore, and they're too short.

I want one of those rides that give me a reaction like those people have when they're about to get in line on your "custom built" coaster on roller coaster tycoon.. Those ill ride

Rollercoasters aren't dead. I think you're just old. :chuckle:

It's been 2 years since I've last been there, so I'll have to see if I'm old as well come September.

He's just the guy who sits at the rides' exits now in his Wrangler jean shorts, Hanes polo that fits a bit too tight and an aura of Pierre Cardin musk staring at the tank topped girls nodding.

As I respect that, rides are still fun. The lines just suck. Especially when you just go with your girlfriend and have to be by her side THAT long.

Since I moved down to Cbus ~6mo. ago, I have to go check out Kings Island. Never been.

Somebody died a few hours ago at Cedar Point. It wasn't their fault, it was the man's own. He jumped a restricted area fence to retrieve something most likely and got hit by the Raptor.

Just let the park know your phone, hat, wallet, whatever is attainable at such and such, there are far more safe ways than doing by far the worst.

I'm sure at that time of day that people were riding on the ride... That would be pretty traumatic to suddenly see a person get hit by the ride as you were riding. I almost feel worse for the riders that witnessed that than the guy who went through multiple fences to get into the restricted area.

Indeed. Darwin wins again.
