Channing Frye

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Warriors are not going small, they play a true big for the majority of the game. I don't see a problem with trying Frye and open up the paint.

Yeah i mean i would just try. Our Rim Protection is bad anyway so think Frye's 9 Additional Points and floor Spacing are more valuable than anything he might give up.

Or Play Derrick. Last Game just felt like we where 1 Impact Player short. We need another Player who can make a difference on Offense or Defense.

Man, I'm glad this guy didn't play tonight...defense would have been awful :bs:
I disagreed with you before the game, but frankly, I think you might be right. I posted this in the "Cavs vs. Warriors" thread: Per Synergy, Cavs held GSW to 0.89 points per possession in the halfcourt and 1.33 points in transition.

I.E., the problem wasn't halfcourt defense, it was that we kept missing shots and turning the ball over. Frye helps solve the first part of that equation.

Worst case, it's worth a shot, especially if the offense looks bad to start G2.

I don't see such a huge issue as others do in playing Frye..he's a big.
TT vanished and allowed Putrid and Mr.McGoo to dominate him.
Give Frye some minutes out there.

I think we need to slow the pace down a bit. 103 pace is way too fast. I think last year we were at 95 possessions per game. That sounds about right to me. We need to limit the turnovers and control the glass. If we can be the team with more possessions and hold them to .89 points per possession in the half court, I like our chances a lot.

We don't need guys like shump taking an off the dribble mid ranger with 20 seconds on the clock.

Agreed! I think 92-95 possessions is the sweet spot where we want to be. If GSW is draining halfoucrt threes, you want to play a bit faster to mitigate their impact; on the corollary, if they are getting a boatload of turnovers leading to threes, you want to slow down the pace and avoid those turnovers. The 92-95 possession line lets you go either way fairly easily.

Frankly, I really don't know where I see Shump fitting in this series. He was better than JR, but the Splash brothers still torched him, and he provides a negative impact on offense with his rushed shots and no spacing.

Frye-Love is the line up to roll. They've been so attached to the shooter but Frye-Love pulls their big ALL THE WAY out of the paint.

Much more space for driving.

Agreed.....I feel like any time Zaza or Javele is in court, Frye should be in to space court. Yes, Kevin has to guard Draymond, but I think spacing on our end with LeBron in ISO is best way to play. Slow the game down and put shooters all over the perimeter.

This is exactly what Lue said today -- the problem was not halfcourt defense.

The problems were

- transition defense
- turnovers (leading to +20 GSW FGA)

And, as you said, the offense (bricking shots that led to GSW transition offense).

I think Lue should try Frye out there against McGee to pull him out of the paint. It might not hurt against Zaza either.

GSW neutralized TT completely in game one, why not try the only other big we have to change it up.

If Frye doesn't play tonight and we lose I'm gonna flip.
