Chuck Booms fired from 92.3

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I finally may have a morning sports show to listen to.

On my way to work, I used to fantasize about driving off the road. I thought it was bc I hated my job, in all reality it was bc I listened to K&B. I changed the channel and suddenly felt better every morning.

Get Sirius XM, Morning Men on Mad Dog Radio, The Starting Line Up on the NBA channel or the Roto Experts on the Fantasy Channel are all much better than local radio.

I'd like to see Ken Carmen get a better time slot. When I happen to be in the car at night, I think his show is hilarious.

The thing 92.3 doesn't seem to understand is that I listen to Mike & Mike in the morning because K&B are so bad. Then, when I get back into my car to go home from work, I continue to listen to Hooley because I think he's on par with Bull & Fox and talks more basketball, which I like. The end result is that 92.3 loses my support for both drive time shows because of their terrible morning lineup.

I actually tweeted at Fox to have more NBA guests on because him and Bull seem clueless about the NBA and he blocked me :conf (2):
Carman is the best thing that station has right now. He also got picked up nationally by CBS Sports Radio for a late night weekend spot so he's getting noticed. Part of me wonders if they keep him in that late slot because it gives them a ratings boost during an otherwise unproductive time.

I actually enjoy Bull and Fox. They aren't the most knowledgeable guys out there but I don't think they pretend to be.

Carman is great. They might keep him late night because part of his schtick isn't really suitable until the late night hours.

Booms made me wish I was listening to Munch or Goldhammer. That's how bad he was.

Although I never like hearing about someone losing their job, I have to say Booms absolutely ruined the mornings at 92.3. We use a lot of hyperbole when talking about guys like Goldhammer, Rizzo, Hooley, Bull, etc, but Booms was flat out intolerable to listen to. I really have no idea how he lasted as long as he did. It's one thing to do be a contrarian and have that your schtick. It's another thing to be a contrarian and a fool at the same time.

Who filled in for him this AM?

Nobody really. JG Spooner talked more than usual, that's about it.

So has anything leaked as to why he was let go? I mean besides sucking.

After a rough week at work it was nice to hear some good news this morning. My god I hated that prick. I would literally listen to the static on Mike and Mike over listening to K&B.

To bad that whole Joe Lull quit/fired thing happened. I agree that you move Carmen to a more high profile slot, even if he has to change his schtick, I think he's engaging enough to change and still be entertaining. But this would've opened up a more regular spot for Lull.

You have to figure Carmen is moving to the AMs. He seems to be the golden boy of the group and it only makes sense to put him in either AM or PM drive time. I think the station likes the Bull/Fox combo and will ride that out. Who knows what they think of Kiley on his own. I can see them trying a Kiley and Carmen show for a while, I'm just not so sure that Kiley is long for the station either.

I would like to see Phelps paired with someone other than Baskin. I actually kind of like Les Levine. Levine and Phelps I think could work.

All of 92.3 and Cleveland talk show is a joke.
