Good get for the city.

People in this City are excited. Well.. The ones who actually understand more than Red = Republican and Blue = Democrat...

Good for Cleveland. Regardless of your political affiliation, this helps Cleveland out in a big way.

Great for the city, but I just read that the Northeast Yacht Club off Lakeshore only has capacity for 152 yachts. Somebody better get on that in the next two years. We don't need Republicans leaving Cleveland unsatisfied.

If its a week long convention, what they hell are they gonna do?

Guys, I work in the trade show and convention industry and the company I work for does a shit ton of work for the RNC including all of their national conventions. Let me tell you, regardless of your political affiliation this is a HUGE get for Cleveland. You've got thousands of conventioneers, show management people, the media, the politicians and speakers, and security staff paying for hotel rooms, food, bar tabs, lavish private parties, ancillary events, facility and equipment rental fees + all the extra labor involved in making the convention happen. It's only one week, but you can reasonably expect the economic boost to the city of Cleveland to be EASILY north of $400 million!

LeBron returning will affect downtown development by far. Huge economy boost now. Projects might speed up, projects that were put on hold might resume, and new projects will begin. Just adds to the exciting times going on in the 216 right now.

And yes, the RNC is huge as well. This is like the all star weekend for politics.

$400 million you say?
$250 million in tax revenue from an LBJ led Cavs team?

Time to invest some more dough into the city.

With LeBron returning, I'm officially putting the gateway area on notice... That lot across from the Q should be developed into a half-parking garage, half-east 4th set-up.. Pretty much just extend 4th right up to the arena. Plus, phase 2 of the casino will likely come to fruition especially now.. I'm done with the lackluster offerings of the area by the northeast entrance to Progressive Field.

The lakefront and the East side of Cleveland need worked on before downtown.
