Even though that wasn't exactly what i meant, that's awesome to know, but what i meant was that i feel his BBIQ is not super high. I wasn't referring to his actual intelligence outside the court. The two can be related, but one doesn't exclude or guarantee the other.

speaking as someone with a phd but an extremely low basketball IQ, I resemble this remark!

Why can't we just wait and see how he does the next two seasons?

Nobody knows shit about how this 20 year old will play in 5 years. Nor do we need to. Part of the fun is that we don't know.

What we do know is that he has shown improvement in his rookie year, he's fun to watch, and he's respected around the NBA. Brett Brown had him listed at the TOP of his pregame briefing - with good reason, Collin torched them.

Who is the Cavs' coach that is working closest with Sexton? I think they should probably try and keep him because our player development has been great.
This article credits Mike Gerrity and Andrew Olson as the Cavs coaches working with Collin the most.

While Sexton deserves plenty of credit for his relentless drive, he’s had plenty of help. Larry Drew has been vital, putting Sexton in positions to succeed. Mike Gerrity, director of player development, spent lots of time this summer talking to then-coach Tyronn Lue about expected roles and fits for each player. Gerrity, a former college point guard, then designed game-speed, high-energy workouts around how players would be used.

When studying film from summer league, scrimmages and practices during training camp, Gerrity found areas where Sexton could improve, feeling a sense of responsibility in his expansion. That relationship has blossomed throughout the season, with the two of them typically arriving early and staying late. Shooting coach Andrew Olson has worked with Sexton as well, focusing on form, release and lift during lengthy sessions.

I've been saying it all along...you can't teach heart and desire and he's got oodles of it. I think someone else put it best, I don't know what his ceiling is but I'm damn sure he will reach it.

Been telling this to my real life friends (sorry guys and gals) and they were all skeptical.

Pretty sure that Collin has surpassed almost all of our expectations for his rookie season. There is not a single person here who thought he would shoot 40% from 3 and make more than Kyrie did in his rookie season. I don't know if he'll ever be a pure pg but as he keeps developing he'll definitely be a 20 pt scorer. I really think RJ Barrett would be a great fit in the back court with Cedi and Sexton. Morant could also work.

Needs to develop in other parts of his game. As of now I see nothing more than an average scorer. The guy has a career high of six assists... Kinda concerning. Look, he’s improved a lot, but he’s still behind schedule imo

He's actually a really really really good scorer for a rookie. It's clearly a big strength.

After what you have seen from him this entire season so far, what player would you say is his most likely projection for the future?

Lou Williams.

Still think hes got legit Kemba Walker potential though.

So I keep saying morant because I am just doing the project as 3rd pick, but if we get 2nd pick, I love RJ next to him, love it.

With Cedi and RJ both having high level play making for their positions, it would be a great fit.

Or if we get 3rd pick and Morant goes 2nd, then that works too.

I am just saying any of the top 3 picks would work, I wouldn't say no to Morant just because Sexton is a "PG" too.
