OK, I was a Sexton Skeptic in the fall and winter. His stats didn't show useful skills other than drawing fouls. The distinct odor of "Bust" began to accumulate like it does around any small guard who can't start the offense and who can't score in the paint or from outside. But now he's moving the ball a bit and finding better spots on the floor. Good for him. He finally looks like a guy who might deserve a second NBA contract. I'd be even more optimistic if I thought he could defend at least one position in the NBA, but you know, baby steps. He's banged out 3 of his best 4 games in the past two weeks. Keep it up Young Bull!

I too got frustrated at him at times but all accounts suggests he is a tireless worker, just didn't know how coachable he is and how good is his bbiq.... Has always thought his ceiling is poor man's AI (don't mean it in a bad way, that guy is a generational talent)... Hope he reaches it, that would be a good start for the Cavs rebuild...

Really happy with his progress. When you consider how just in the previous draft how atrocious De'Aaron Fox's numbers were his rookie year and the leap he took in year 2, it's hard to know what the ceiling is for Collin when the talent is there.

Ideally though if he does ever turn into a top 3 to 4 player on a contending team, we'd need a smart, all-star level playmaking wing alongside him. Someone like prime Iguodala or pre injury Gordon Hayward.

You guys know how much I love Sexton since the beginning- here are his stats in March:

22.7 pts
3 ast
2.3 reb

Shooting 51% from field including 49% from 3pt line. Since January Collin has been shooting 43.6% from downtown - much improvement from day 1 when he had tendency to shoot when his foot was on the line or did not even shoot 3 3s in a game.

Collin has improved tremendously throughout the year. Of course there are other aspects of his game needs to improve. His shot selection, utilizing screens, taking advantage of his speed in transition, knowing the nba... he has taken a step up.

Hope he continues to finish strong. I just love his passion for basketball and I want more kids to like him.

The best thing about what you posted is that Collin is 20 years old. For a very young kid to improve so dramatically during a season is super impressive. Both he and Cedi's improvements throughout the season have been very refreshing to see.

Might deserve a second contract? He's only 20 and he clearly belongs in the NBA. Like someone recently said about DeAngelo Russell, who took until year 4 to reach the ASG, he's right on schedule.

Great comparator to bring up. Fox's per 36 assist numbers jumped from 5.7 to 8.2 in a single year.

He is ahead of schedule actually given the timeline for him was 3 yrs. His work ethic is why he progressing rapidly and unless someone has had there head in the sand it's not difficult to realize his ceiling is pretty high because of it. He aint much of a distributor, but that will come next year after a full offseason and the additon of Zion Williamson

Can we get some numbers on typical progression of Assists throughout a career along with some outliers
