I like the continual backhanded articles/comments about Sexton- he’s the type that fuels off comments.
He’s putting work in, a lot of it. My favorite comment recently was the Cavs want him to get a hobby. He’s a gym rat. Loves the game, wants to be great.
He’s only 20. In two years, at the ripe age of 22, we maybe laughing about these early doubts.
In that case, we need to unearth every negative comment ever written about Sexton's passing and get them to him, pronto.

"His score-first approach has annoyed teammates" but they are fine with Clarkson chucking?

Yea I don't get this often repeated idea firstly because nobody says anything about Clarkson. But also, when I watch Sexton there might be 1 or 2 shots per game where I think that wasn't the right shot to take - nowhere near the score first and ignore everyone else approach. I definitely see this latter in Clarkson's game.

If Sexton is showing a good+ scoring efficiency rate then you want him to take as many shots as he can as long as they continue to be good shots.

We need to have a serious conversation about his haircut.

I actually don't mind it because NBA players get so caught up in their brand. Sexton having a very unique haircut that is this noticable, just allows him to focus less on his brand and more on basketball. People will know Sexton for his haircut and it's easy to spot him. He will score high on whatever metric the marketing people use to figure out recognition of a player or brand. I think that will translate to less of the off court crap that may lead to some issues that we see from pro athletes.

Thinking too hard on this one, it's corny as hell and looks like shit

:p

Sexton is a long way from being even average for his position. But his first-year trajectory has been encouraging.

I think may people get caught up in the excitement and over look that last part-- He's still really raw, can't seem to defend at all, and has a long way to go. But at least there's some optimism now.

You are being overly negative. Sexton has proven to me to tha he can be very difficult to defend, and will continue to improve in that area. Adv stats be damned.

I do think he'll get defense figured out. He's got the athleticism to at least be an average defender, but most rookie point guards tend to be pretty horrendous defensively.

People said the same thing about Anthony Davis and his eyebrows or Harden and his beard.
Beard looks good, especially on him. He needs it. Hardens beard is the real mvp

Brow needs to go too

To add, I've never felt while watching that effort was ever the problem defensively with Sexton. It's all technique/scheme based. College defense is... easy, to say the least. It's schematically a nightmare for a PG in the NBA.
