Cuyahoga County Sin Tax

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Joe, are you even going to try and debate your position? These short sniper posts are a waste of everyone's time, yours included. You started this thread and haven't made a readable post/point since then. You used to want to be a politician...is this what you were going to do if elected---

vote no
well?
wow
vote no
sell the stadiums to the highest bidder
sell the stadiums
vote NO
cool

Its like a doge meme. I actually tried to discuss the issue with a coordinator for the coalition against the sin tax and while she had some good points, she still couldn't come up with a viable alternative. That is my issue, we cannot repeal this without a backup plan in place.

Much taxes!
Many corruption!
Such argument!

I can't wait until this passes and Joe flips shit on here :chuckles:.

Joe has sold me.

sell the stadiums

This whole thing has been an attention grab by some politicians.

I'm really tired of the anti sin tax ads saying what are really obligated to pay for. Pretty sure the lease is clear? I haven't had a chance to read it yet.

Also I am still waiting for a viable alternative. That added cost to tickets is not the answer as it is completely dependent on attendance generation and last time I checked, raising ticket prices doesn't bring in more fans.

Early voting numbers for the primary have suggested a low turnout.

Cuyahoga County officials are reporting that the sin tax is bringing out fewer voters than anticipated heading into this weekend.

Issue 7 would extend a tax on alcohol and tobacco for another 20 years to pay for repairs on Cleveland professional sports arenas.

Pat McDonald is director of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections. He says he expected the issue to attract voters, but turnout so far has been low.

Did they expect people in Cuyahoga to come out and vote?

There's still plenty of time. Time is on my side, yes it is..
