I'm pretty sure that fan base would give their left nuts, collectively, to have Gilbert running that franchise instead of the Busses right now.

But, to be honest, they've been completely irrelevant since that nixed trade. And if it wasn't, they'd still matter. So I'd be pissed too if I was a Laker fan.

I love Gilbert, but lets put into perspective. We gave him 2 casinos, the only 2 in all of NE Ohio. He is reinvesting the money NE Ohio gave him back into the Cavs.

He isn't running a charity or anything. But glad he is doing the right thing and reinvesting the money back into NE Ohio.

I really hope this new found attention for Dan turns that media/SAS narrative of him being some asshole owner. It's time everyone appreciated Dan as a great owner, not just Cleveland fans

Unfortunately it won't change, it'll just be positioned differently as it has already. James is forcing his hand to make Gilbert spend all this money as pay back for "The Letter". James is the puppet master and Gilbert has strings tied to his appendages and wallet.

The Letter will be the first thing that people outside of Cleveland will think of when Gilbert's name is mentioned and the national media will do whatever it can to make sure no one forgets despite James and Dan already moving past it. It's really a shame.
