Dan Gilbert

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That’s not really true and it doesn’t matter.

When you have the greatest player in the world on your team, all that matters is making him happy.
Why do we keep responding to this jackass and his multiple personalities that he brings with him?

11 years of LeBron and just 1 ship , that seems extremely impossible, even more seemingly impossible when the Owner has a casino next door funding the whole operation.

I’m hoping this was a post to vent because part of it is factually incorrect and the other part seem to draw a poor conclusion.

You conveniently included Lebron’s first two season when Gund still owned the team. Just to be clear we are talking about 9 season where Gilbert was the majority owner. Keep in mind that Gilbert had to clean up Gund’s mess with the aftermath of the Boozer debacle , Paxson’s free agency / trade blunders, and Paul Silas being our head coach (who did a lousy job). During the 9 season , 4 eastern conference championships and an nba championship. Personally, I think they would have 2 nba championships. In 2015 we didn’t lose both Kyrie and Love I think we win . Not sure how losing that year could be pinned on Gilbert.

The second part of your statement seems to imply Gilbert didn’t spend enough. There are a lot of fair criticisms towards Gilbert with regards to the letter or his meddling in the front office, but one thing he should be criticized for is not being willing to pay. He paid more tax than any owner in NBA history . I’m far from Gilbert’s biggest fan , but some of the criticism you outlined seems misguided and somewhat unfair.

A great post and a much better response than this fool deserves.

11 years 9 years , whatever . Miami 2 in 4 years .. Why ? The owner didn’t go the cheap route and hire a rookie GM, that’s why..

2nd part I wasn’t implying he didn’t spend enough . I was implying he was spending house money earned from the casino.

Pat Riley was a rookie GM when Miami hired him.

Edit:

Not even gonna give this a response.

Are you really going to compare Cle 4 finals vs Mia 4 finals?

That 73 win GS team is better then any team Mia played. If it wasn't for that bitch ass Durant and injuries to Kyrie and Love in 2015 one could make an argument we win any one of the last 4 finals.

Hell maybe we win all 4. It took a few games to figure them out but when we did they crumbled. After that they needed Durant to beat us

I still think you are going down the wrong path . He didn’t hire rookie GMs because they were cheap. Gilbert hired inexperienced GMs because he wanted control and to meddle in front office decision making.

The casino didn’t open until 2012 , so you’re going to hold that against him for lebron’s first stint?

My biggest beef I have is that you have this narrative you want to spin , you fudge some facts, and then continue to spin it in spite of it. I was hoping by providing some facts and more context around your original statement you would give some more thought on your original position ... I guess not.
