Dan Gilbert

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I am thankful for an owner who appears to have the foresight to plan out his team's revenue streams, cap future, and total earnings and determinedhe can afford (or maybe needs to afford) to keep this together. IF they have a plan... that remains to be seen. Could just be a short term leverage, truely going 'all in' while hoping a title comes out of it and makes it successful.
aka...I'm happy that Dan Gilbert owns a casino that essentially prints money. :chuckle:

How about the fact that Dan is paying for two coaches, as we speak. He's paying Mike Brown for another 2 years, as well as Dave Blatt.

Jesus Christ did Mike Brown make out like a bandit.

Since he's on our payroll, can we put him back to work as the lead defensive coordinator?

I think Brown would be one of the most respected assistants in the league.

Head coach? Ehghhh...

I just want him to come out during the half time of our home games and do the Carlton!

Any updates on Phase 2? Or is it official that Ohio voters have been bamboozled?

Not a huge fan of subjective lists but nice to see DG being mentioned as one of the best owners in the NBA, especially after he was killed in the media after the great comic sans incident of 2010.

That was a terrible article. "Driving away lebron James in 2010." Are you fucking kidding? He beant over backwards for lebron.

"Putting his money where his mouth is, something he didn't do the first time lebron was on the cavs." Jesus H Christ. How can people just make stuff up? He was eating salaries left and right to put a team together.

2 things contributed to our slight lack of talent: lebron not committing, and lebron being too good, too soon and not allowing us to work the draft a little more.

Fucking awful.

I hate how cheap Gilbert used to be. He was only willing to pay Shaq 20 million for a year to be our mascot, shameful.

The writer of that article literally looks like McLovin, except maybe younger. WGAF?

Not only that, drafting Dion was not one of his worst moves... Dion was able to be moved for two key assets.

Not to mention, Chris Grant (seemingly) executed all drafting decisions.

Here's a nice, objective quote:
"Dan Gilbert is not a good owner, he’s a terrible owner who can’t put together a winning franchise that doesn’t involve LeBron James."

Kbiz apparently. It just sucks that this is the general consensus on Gilbert around the country. Makes me wanna puke.

Dang, homies! Maybe i should've read the article first before posting. I just scrolled through the numbers.

And yes, @Damien O'Connel, you are correct...

I'm not a particularly huge fan of Dan, but he's not afraid to spend which is not something fans of every team can say.

I would say though, that just because he spends a lot of money when the team is good doesn't make him a great owner or a great person. Just my two cents.

Dan Gilbert is far from perfect. For from it.

But the man will spend money to make money more than most NBA owners.

Three Max Deals
18 million for Thompson
10 million for Shump
10 million for Andy
Added Moz knowing he has a payday coming
Kept JR
Kept Delly
Added Mo, RJ, Kaun

Did not allow a single asset to leave for nothing in return.

Highest payroll in the league. Highest Luxury Tax payments in the league.

Thank you Dan Gilbert(and thanks for coming back LeBron as we know the two go hand in hand)
