Our game was not iso-heavy against Boston.
Do you have anything to back this up? Because the eye test certainly does.

edit - NBA.com has a short SportVU report:

67% of Kyrie's shots and 70% of his makes came after 3-4 dribbles. Here's what they say about Lebron - "The Cavaliers used James isolations extensively to generate offense, which consistently drew the attention of the weak side Celtics defenders. James' 12 isolations were more than the Celtics total of 7 and more than his regular season average of 7.9 per game."

I hope they do these reports for every game. Really interesting stuff.

Belated props to Blatt but I thought he did a good job in game 1. Some of the lineups he used I wasn't sure about at first, particularly the James Jones usage when he was matched up against I believe it was Brandon Bass from BOS - but to Blatt's credit pretty much every button he pressed seem to work.

Some of the little things he did caught my eye as well. Really liked how he subbed Lebron out I think it was late in the 1st half on that last possession to prevent potential foul trouble, also did a good job using Shump on I. Thomas, liked how he spotted Matrix a few mins there to keep him ready in a pinch. Liked the overall game plan of going to post frequently on offense.

Solid 1st playoff game for Blatt.

T.T isn't exactly Dwight Howard or Shaq at the line, so Stevens fouling him was more desperation/overthinking than trying to get into Blatt's head.

That being said, Blatt putting Moz in showed Stevens that overthinking things isn't going to work in this series.

Very pleased with Blatt in Game 1.

By the way, if we win Game 2, Blatt will be the only coach in Cavs history to win his first two playoff games.

Yea I think he just wanted to stop the momentum and try something to slow things down,
I don't see him using the hacking strategy anymore, like u said TT is ok at the line at 65% definitely not a good idea to hack him imo

That all depends too. At the 9 minute mark in the second we started scoring arty a rate of about 4.5 points a minute and averaging damn near two points ps and this why on for around six minutes. That probably would have been a good time to take away the momentum and reduce it to 1pps simultaneously. Could have been the difference in the game

Jesus Christ. Grow up and leave the man's family alone.

Awkward first half, but Blatt turned it around in the second. I think Stevens went to hack a TT in order to get into Blatt's head and make him take TT out, knowing he likes TT to finish games. Really impressive move. Should be interesting to see what Blatt does in game two - is he proactive or reactive?

Still a really basic offense with too much standing around and waiting for Lebron to do something. I thought he would have learned his lesson by now. Seeing the defense played by GSW, HOU and LAC (I missed the CHI game, so they are probably here as well) really concerns me if we do not start moving and playing like a team. This iso-freelance offense is just not going to cut it in later rounds.

Are we sure it wasn't just a one-time hack a Tristan move to stop that fast break? I think the Cavs had like a 3 on 2 or 2 on 1 fast break at the time of the foul.

I still think everyone is looking at that fouling of Thompson all wrong. LeBron was playing poorly at that point in the game. He was doing the classic iso-LeBron routine...over-dribbling, trying to do everything himself, and turning the ball over. He'd also missed a few shots in a row. But, right at that moment, he had the ball on a fast break with only one Celtics guard in front of him. I'm pretty sure Stevens had his guy foul Thompson to halt LeBron's fast break and prevent him from doing something awesome, which in turn might of gotten him back into the game.

Plus, no one plays hack-a-Shaq on a 64% free throw shooter.

Could be and good observation. Obviously impossible to know until Stevens comments on it. Guess we'll see as the series plays out.

I was at the game, and yes, it looked pretty iso-heavy, but I think a lot of it was trying to pull a couple of rabbits out of the hat by ISOing both Love and LeBron in the post more. I definitely did want to see more ball movement, though.

not according to ohio state law... or most states for that matter. i believe its something like 38 states have age of consent of 17 or lower.

It was just the one time and it was indeed to stop a fast break. They did not do a 'hack-a-T,' they just fouled on a break.

Yeah they just 'Delly'd' TT to stop LBJ going all 'LBJ' on them...make sense;)
