People are also underestimating the loss of Andy...that was a huge hit.

not really underestimating - more like ignoring...

should be a lot better now with mozgov on the team, but how long did that take ?...

This is what i just said in another post. Basically this all started when Andy went down and opened my eyes to how much he means to this team as a player. He was one to get thoe 50/50 balls and hustle distract plays. It may not have shown but he was our best defensive player out there.

Never talk about a player's money, especially on contract years. Doesn't matter if Blatt didn't mean it as an insult. Never ends well....

with so much dead weight on the roster for various reasons, any loss of 1-2 key role players is a huge blow for the team, the rotations, and the results.

add lebron to the mix of injuries - and it's simply devestating.

last time roster was healthy = winning streak.

Moz only played two games on a dysfunctional team as is now. He was the only one trying to care no matter the score. Bron is going to love Moz and I hope if nothing else it can leak back into the team I saw a few games this season.

Don't forget his reliable mid range jumper that bigs had to respect. No doubt his loss hurt, but Cavs are foolish if they expected anything less. It isn't a matter of if Andy gets hurt, it is when.

Everyone was talking about ball movement in Blatt's system when he was hired. Blatt was telling players to fuck off, benching them when they spoke out of turn, and getting players to give a ton of effort.

Not just on RCF. Tons of sports writers and journalists sold the hire as "genius." I get that Blatt's system may not translate well to the NBA, but the problem is there isn't a visible system. Plays aren't being run. There's no ball movement, no defensive effort and no passion in the players.

It simply doesn't make sense how someone lauded as a great basketball mind, surrounded by NBA assistants, can only come up with an assortment of iso plays and hero ball from whoever...

If I remember correctly, many of us were praising Blatt during the winning streak, when not surprisingly, the ball was moving and plays were visibly being run. What changed?

It may be that Blatt doesn't connect with the team. Maybe they simply aren't running his plays. Maybe he's in way over his head. I have no idea what is is causing this, but what we're seeing isn't David Blatt's system, it's a bunch of uninspired garbage ball.

Maybe this team needs a new coach, but if they do, it's probably not because our current coach doesn't understand how to win a game of basketball.

You and Max are the few making total sense right now. Andy is a glue guy and on a team in win now it hurts more than in tank mode. When we were tanking we had players like the 76'ers who were playing for their NBA lives. We have players who can do anything right now and are basically not even there. Harris is young but not athletic enouph or fast to play physical with the more freakish players. Until this team meshes with the few players we should have out there. Nothing good will come of this.

The Cavs run the guard weave multiple times just about every game. They also usually run horns a few times and quite a few PnR and PnP. These sets perhaps aren't happening as often as they should be, but they are happening.

Every time I see the guard weave, or horn, I'm like THERE's Blatt's offense, where has it been?

And honestly, most of the time they run those plays, nothing becomes of them. I do recall Lebron getting some nice looks when he wasn't the primary ballhandler out of those sets....but we all know what happened with that.

Media will run with that quote big time. Blatt is usually pretty poised with the press so the frustration might be getting the better of him right now.

Nobody cares about the intent, press will just plaster "Blatt says Kevin Love is not a max player" and it will be all over social media.

Gotta be smarter than that.

So if essentially the argument is that Lebron will fix everything then ipso facto David Blatt doesn't really mean much to this team's success?

I'd be willing to give Blatt more slack if the team showed something more before all the injuries. We looked like a mediocre playoff team and not a championship contender before AV and Lebron got hurt with problems like Love getting integrated into the offense that can't be tied directly to a flawed roster. Posters would be willing to give Blatt a lot more slack if he actually gave them something to hold their hats on this season so far.

Put in other words what positives has Blatt bought to the team? The only thing that I can think is Irving's early season defense which has evaporated and he has not progressed at all as a playmaker

Yeah I think they foolishly thought Andy would be fine this year and Bron goes on record saying you can win with a lack of bigs. Yeah if your not playing Delly and Harris a warn down Miller and Jones major minutes.

agreed.

and he may have to come out and publically adress the whole thing.

even if love fully understands what happend and doesn't care about it - he will care about how the media will portray it.
not even sure I can blame them.
or love...
