I'm not sure I'm giving Blatt any credit about last night ...

James Jones for 29 minutes? And he wasn't even making shots... I understand if he was on some crazy roll but good lord the guy wasn't even playing at all in all of the blowouts.... Then makes no adjustments when he clearly isn't working and is missing shots

Blatt just didn't really do much last night other than this big time benching of LeBron and I think he is gonna cost us a game in the playoffs with his avg-poor coaching

Jones gave us some horrible mismatches and yes, he wasn't making shots. But his presence on the court gives the offense desperately needed space with Love out. And in those sometimes excruciating 30 minutes of James Jones he was a -3, so it wasn't exactly a complete disaster. The game was lost because of reasons other than James Jones' playing time.

I'm curious who should have played the PF position on a night where the offensive was so off?
Marion this year can't put the ball in the basket, meaning he can be left unguarded and it will just clog the already weak offensive night.
Mozgov was in foul trouble.
LeBron, as other posters said, had one of the worst 30pts games.
Mike Miller isn't a PF and he is a shadow of himself.
So really who is left?
Please enlighten us how would you spread the floor? how would you change the momentum? who would you put at the PF position on that given night?

Saying so decisively that Blatt shouldn't play Jones so much which equals to bad coaching is just too easy.
I know that I'm a great couch coach, but sometimes reality is more complex than that...

Yes I do believe he needed to make changes ... Jones played almost 10 more minutes than Shumpart who at least has the body to handle inside defense moreso than Jones does and he can sit out on the 3 pt line and hit 2-9 just as Jones can

Marion can't shoot? Well either could Jones again being 2-9 and the whole small ball deal didn't help clear the lanes any as we gave up several rebounds ... LeBron had what like 8 or 9 turn overs fighting people in the lane granted not Jones fault but no changes being made other than sitting him out there was weak IMO

Give Blatt some credit. Trolled the Bulls by playing Jones 29 minutes - Keeps his cards very close to his chest.

TBH, I don't have a problem with Jones playing as much as he did. Before the start of the game when he was asked about Love's absence, he mentioned how they will lack Love's ability to stretch the floor.

The only issue is, he shouldn't have played Jones as many mins as he did. Should have rotated him with Mike Miller for some mins. I know Miller hasn't been great either but I feel he is better than Jones. He was very good for Memphis last season unlike Jones who hasn't been that good in the past couple of seasons. This would have also helped Mike Miller warm up for the play-offs as I feel he would be vital against teams like Wizards and Bulls.

Not sure if you've seen those videos or not but they show a lot about the character of coach Blatt. he is a very loved man in Israel for a reason. those are from Maccabi's triumph last year. A documentary called "against all odds", and multiple celebration videos with about 100,000 of fans. sorry that I can't translate it all.

First i was a Laker fan before the Cav's were a twinkle in Nick Mileti eye. born in C-town Cav's fan from day one. seen every game this year too.

Been waiting ALL 50 years for a Championship season, this is my/our best chance over the next 4 years. even if you are 25 years old this might be it fellows.

Would you have hired a guy with no NBA experience, player or coaching to win a Championship ? face it he was hired to win maybe 10 more games than last year and grab a 7th or 8th seed. and that's it.

Ask yourself how many games has he out coached his fellow coach and won a close game ?
playoff games are close most of the time. and he will be exposed for what he is in the playoffs, a guy with zero NBA experience. i hope I'm wrong but i don't think so.

Myself i'm like LBJ regular season games are not important,
what's important is playing well and being fresh for the playoffs is. the way he is playing our best players they will not be fresh that's for sure.

How great is he minus LBJ ? that speaks for itself. good coaches win without their best player. with his record without LBJ we would have won less games (half) this year than the 33 we got last year. heck every other NBA coach doesn't have LBJ and they all win more games than this guy percentage wise. David is the weakest link on this team.

Most here are in love with this guy i see....how sweet.

June will come let's see how that Love is then.

To you, and everyone/anyone else sharing your drunken viewpoint, please go back the last few years and show me the playoff series won by coaches (meaning where coaching won the series, not coaches that were there doing a good job while winning) not named Pop.

Ready... set... go!

Listen you person with eyeballs, I'll ask the questions you find the answers.

Then it will be your turn to ask a question. your move.

Please don't be the type of person that talks junk to people you don't know. people might think your junk is small, no not that kinda junk... the junk in your mind.

My posts here are out of real concern about winning it all. see a loss and some of my thoughts coming out from others now. if David had good rotations there would be less trouble missing a guy.
players need to play even if it's 4-8 minutes a night. thru experience a coach at this level knows how to hide players weakness for short periods and get their strengthens to come out. in these past few weeks of excellent play would have been the time to do this. the big 3 should have had few games of over 32 minutes. frankly who's going to beat us with our starters well rested the last 6 minutes of a game ? good luck

I like David seems level headed loves BB etc
just think he is on the spot he's not ready for. how could he be ?

The Israeli sports channel sent a reporter to the All-Star weekend in NY, so they conducted short video interviews with Kyrie and LBJ regarding coach Blatt:

http://www.sport5.co.il/HTML/Articles/Article.899.184696.html

Here's a transcription of what Lebron and Kyrie said about Blatt.

Lebron:

"Everyday we get closer and closer , I think he is great, he has handled his first stint in the NBA extremely well so far and I'm happy to be playing for him."

Irving:

"Coach Blatt is awesome, I'm really behind him 100% and he has a lot of trust in what I can accomplish and what I can do. I'm just glad we have him as a coach. He is an international coach in the league and he is learning just like us and we are getting better as time goes on."

I know they both said nice things about Blatt but this just makes me love Kyrie even more lol. Not to say LBJ isn't on Blatt's side or some nonsense like that, but from his quote Kyrie sounds a lot closer to him.
