David Blatt is a former NBA coach

There's a good Cavs write up in a USA Today article that's floating around, and this nugget stood out. The Blatt drama feels like a long time ago all the sudden...

Remember when James offered indifferent support of first-year NBA coach David Blatt?
On Friday James said, "Every day we get closer and closer. I think he's great. He's handled his first stint in the NBA extremely well so far, and I'm happy to be playing for him."

Blat did a very nice job picking apart the Knicks weaknesses today. Had a game plan that made it look easy for everyone on the team.

Cavaliers: Blatt said he couldn't say anything about the Cavs' plans to sign Kendrick Perkins, who was waived Saturday by Utah. Perkins and James were tweeting about it Saturday, though Blatt said he wasn't aware because he isn't on Twitter. "I have no knowledge of the medium," he said.

- We took the game seriously and came out defensive minded.

- Loved the JR dunk and thought it was very special, told him in the timeout: "Thank you for the price of admission"

- Iman and JR handled themselves well, returning to the Garden.

- Moz, JR and Shump turned the team around with their skill set, but more importantly with their attitude. Gelled well with their new teammates and showed how good they are.

- Blatt gets a little annoyed with another LBJ minutes question. Says he's at the lowest MPG of his career. Says the team is concious of resting him and keeping him fresh for the playoffs.

- We have our goals, but we're always looking only at the game ahead.

JR Smith about Blatt:

Cleveland coach David Blatt said he told Smith right after the dunk: "Thank you for the price of admission."

Smith, often maligned in New York and elsewhere for some attitude and off-court issues, was asked if a coach had ever said anything like that to him before.

The answer: No. Or, at least, not really.

"Maybe Woody (former Knicks coach Mike Woodson) a few times, other than that, no coach has ever done that," Smith said. "That's the special thing about coach Blatt, he doesn't let anything go. He's not too big thing for anything, if it's a play you make, he's going to let you know it was the right play or it's the wrong play, and I think that's one of the special things about him.

"Ever since I've been here, it's been a pleasure to play for him."

Look at this video , when Jeff Van Gundy says that because of Lebron , the rating of Cavs games in israel are high . and the israeli commentator is answering him "mr van gundy you wrong" ..

the bottom line is - yes, a lot of israelis watch Cavs game only because of David Blatt, and it has nothing to do with Lebron. even if David will coach the 76ers, the rating in israel will be the same . and remember that in israel (Europe) the games are early in the morning .

Blatt is so loved in israel , that if he will run for prime minister , he will win for sure (really.. haha)
Cavs has many fans in Israel

Sorry for my english .. :)

The Van Gundys are trolls. Not internet trolls. The real ones from Scandinavian folklore.

I was livid when he said that and posted about it the day it happened in this thread. He didn't just say it, he said it in a condescending know it all way. Those Israeli fans were following Blatt no matter what Lebron or not. You know how I know that? Because that first wave of fans came even before we drafted Wiggins
