Anyone else kinda get the vibe when watching a young promising player grow while watching Blatt progressively adapt to the NBA game?

Yes,
That's why I wanted a young team to develop around Blatt, he's a good mentor

“I know Blatt is supposed to be an offensive genius, but the Cavs’ offense looks like almost everyone else’s. That doesn’t mean I think he’s a bad coach, but I’m just wondering when we see the ‘Blatt system’ take hold.”

This part of the article is a perfect example of what drives me bonkers about certain sports fans. They can't even see the most obvious changes even when they are happening directly in front of their eyes. I see a gigantic difference between Blatt's offense and virtually every other offense in the NBA. There is much more movement off the ball and while every other team in the NBA runs screens and pick and rolls, Blatt's system runs multiple screens on virtually every offensive possession, both off and on the ball.

For example, it's much different than triangle. The structure of the triangle (three players forming a triangle, with at least one of those being a post player) is on one side of the floor and a two-man game is on the weak-side. Blatt's system tends to have various formations dependent on his personnel and the matchups. It doesn't necessarily require both big men to be near the basket and it isn't necessarily dependent on a scoring guard. It uses lots of quick offense, quick shots, pick and roll, pick and pop, etc. It's much different than the uptempo systems in the league that coaches like D'Antoni run where the idea is to beat the defense down the court and a quick, but good open look before the defense gets set. There are numerous other offenses to break down, but most of them are entirely too basic to compare to what Blatt is trying to do.

The only offense it remotely looks similar to is the Spurs. The Spurs are much more efficient right now, but the fact that Blatt will implement a lot of his Princeton teachings in the offense will differentiate his system from Pop's which will be seen over time. By season's end, they will be completely different offenses that will still draw comparisons to each other because people won't know any better.

After watching LeBron in his first stint here and then four years in Miami, there is no way anyone who has basic understanding and knowledge of basketball can confuse Blatt's system with Erik Spoelstra's or Mike Brown's or Paul Silas' or any other coach.

the minutes guys plays are going to be okay...right now they have played in two close games to start the season where you want guys to get their game legs back from the offseason. Also, once the dregs of the league get on the schedule, the Cavs should be blowing those teams out and limiting minutes.

funny moment in that last clip where david talks about having very few turnovers in an overtime game, and he ends up saying a "45 minute game"...

old habits.
surprised no one caught it and joked about it on the spot.

His games in the Euro leagues weren't 45 minutes. They were forty, so I'm assuming he either just misspoke or rounded.

Full game + overtime is 45 minutes if your game is 40 minutes long and your overtime is 5 minutes.

But in the NBA, that's 53.

I don't understand the need for a media session after EVERY practice. I can understand before games to discuss game plans. It just seems like a burden but it comes with the job. How tiresome that must be for the players and coaching staff...
